Post subject: PPC Advertising vs. SEO

There are two ways to get traffic to any site. You can either get traffic to your website for free, such as SEO or you can use paid advertising; PPC (pay-per-click).
Often, there is a debate and constant warring between which strategy will be the best strategy to implement in exposing your site to the masses.
In actuality, Internet Marketing is a numbers game, and so the more targeted traffic you can get to your website, the more you will convert, and the more money you’ll make.
So which strategy is the best, free or paid?
Search Engine Optimization:
Free marketing strategies; such as SEO, are just as good as paid marketing, if not better. For example, when the majority of people go searching for information online, they go to Google or any other search engine and type in a phrase; such as “How to Cook and Clean”. The results they get back are divided into two parts, and that is Organic and Paid advertising. These differences are usually easy to identify. The organic results are listed on the left hand side and are listed 1-10 through a series of pages, while the paid are listed on the far right hand side.
When doing a search people will often decide which way is best to resolve their dilemma or situation, and most often people tend to use the free results. Thus, this is enough to indicate that if you want to get highly targeted and free traffic to your website it would be a good idea to get into the Organic results. However, many things are involved, including getting backlinks to your site, making sure you have the right keyword density, and optimizing your site. The downside to Search Engine Optimization is that in order to get your website ranked high, it can be very time consuming. This is a reason why many marketers choose to skip SEO and use Pay-Per-Click with Google Adwords, Bing, or Yahoo Overture.
PAY PER CLICK (PPC):
In short, Pay-Per-Click is when you tell Google; or any other company, how much you want to be charged every time your advertisement is clicked. The higher the amount that you set to be charged will often determine how high your website will rank in the search engines. On the other hand, if you set a low amount then your PPC may not give you good results.
The “pros” of PPC marketing is that it takes a small amount of time to get up and running, but the “con” is that you can not just set up a campaign and expect to make tons of money. PPC is a science and should be implemented with strategy, therefore doing the homework is crucial because if you don’t choose the right keywords and/or charges you could end up losing tons of money and FAST. So PPC takes skill, learning, and possibly experience to succeed.
In short, SEO is a great way for beginners to get a site ranked high in organic results. SEO may be frustrating but once you succeed with SEO the benefits are great. This is also true with PPC, but there is much more risk involved since your success is dependent on your money and skill. Overall, it’s necessary to research both SEO and PPC as much as possible before leaning upon either. |

PPC and SEO are both good in enhancing your website and boosting web traffic but I guess there are many blogger and entrepreneurs use SEO rather than PPC. _________________ online chiropractic marketing

You should write an ebook on how to tie your shoes.
There is nothing like the same old information over and over and over...
Information that does nothing to contribute to the marketing process.
Gee 2 ways. That's brilliant. White or Black? On or Off.
You mean I can get free traffic or I can buy traffic? But just two ways.
Two ways to lace ones shoes... laces or velcro.
Please discuss the pros and cons. _________________

Well I would recommend you to chose SEO since it requires less investment and it is long time. _________________

I like your post, thanks for sharing...
I would suggest doing both. As far as a beginner goes i don't think you can say either is easier or better for a beginner, I believe it comes down to budget and learn curve.
The reason so many people lean toward SEO and especially for the beginner is because it is "Free" however is it really free? I don't think so, it requires a lot of labor/time/effort not to mention the learning curve.
You can get much quicker results using PPC if you have the budget, and of course there is learning curve here to and yes it could cost you money to learn this skill however you can get super quick results as with SEO if you are going after a competitive keyword it can take months to get the result you are after.
Both SEO and PPC are great! and both should be a part of your online traffic profile however for beginners I would suggest other marketing methods like article, video, social networking, web 2.0, etc these are easy to learn, get quick results and you can get many web2.0 properties, video and article ranked high in search engines with just a little keyword research knowledge and without all the SEO mumbo jumbo. _________________ SEO Firm | Ecommerce Website Development | Seo Michigan |

Lot of rehased information, but when you take a look from a longterm ROI perspective SEO wins easily. PPC may be good if you are selling big ticket items or need to keep volume, but if you can develop a longterm strategy SEO is the way to go. _________________ travel agency , cruises , flights |

Well, PPC and SEO both are good for enhancing your website and web traffic.
But these are different things :
PPC : PPC is basically used for getting fast result. IT is not for long time.
SEO : SEO is a service, i agree result is slow, but it is long time result oriented.
So if want to long term benefit then SEO is a best thing. _________________ SMO Services | Link Building Services |

PPC is a good source to get traffic but it is so expensive that small companies can not afford it. Off course organic seo always right choice for any kind of services and business. Or you can try both, based on your target customers. _________________ baby formula brands

PPC gives more traffic than SEO, but traffic normally not targeting one, SEO traffic gives more business opportunities. _________________ Rental Property Management Software |

I fond SEO more effective, If you can find the right keywords and ways to send traffic its very rewarding to get your site up there on google. Of course if you want a quick response, paid advertising is quick but costly. _________________ zhu zhu pets |

PPC is a good source to get the traffic but not so small businesses can not afford it, is cost. All kinds of business services and off-course organic seo is always the right choice. If your target customer base, you can try both. _________________ Last minute deals |

PPC and SEO both are part of internet marketing and both are great for generating business and traffic for the websites. In PPC you advertise on the search engine and search display network partner. If your website got any visitor then you need to pay to the Google for each click. IN SEO you just need to do efforts and your webiste will be in top of the search results but it takes some time. SEO is reliable because it can keep your website on TOP of the SERPs for long time. _________________ Gemstone Rings | Tanzanite Jewelry | Weight Loss Surgery |

Well, SEO stands as Search Engine Optimisation while PPC stands for Pay Per Click. Both helps to generate traffic for your web sites. The main difference is SEO is the long time while PPC is short time strategy. SEO helps to split your business effectively. Another thing is that it is the way of the promote or advertising of your web site or domain. _________________ Motorcycle Parts |
