Hello,

And thanks for reading.

I am a small independent audiobook publisher trying to figure out how to market my products on the net.

I think my site looks pretty good, but what do I know- I'm not selling much.

Any help or advise would be apprciated. Kid gloves not required. Thanks.

I think your site is great. I am a smoker who thinks constantly about quitting and have actually quit a few times Embarassed

I read through your site and found the information great but ... only saw one little link to your product and no info on what the product actually was!

I think you need more links to your dedicated selling page to sell your product ... maybe something like ... Are you ready now? ... Click here to learn more ....

Also, when I click your "Buy Now" link, it just reloads the same page!

Can't sell if the sell link doesn't work!

The selling page itself needs more *oomph* maybe provide more information on the motivational aspect of the CD and the private coaching emails ... make it sound like something they (*I!*) can't live without.

I will integrate some of your suggestions and see hwat happens.

I was able to link to paypal from iexporer, but expereiened a similar problem as you described from Netscape. We're you using netscape or something else? Any ideas on why.

Again, I appreciate your helpful response.

I do use Netscape, sorry for not posting that earlier. Embarassed

I took a look at your source code. Are you using PPC to drive traffic to your site? Have you been listed in any directories yet?

I can't imagine you are getting much in the way of listings via free SE's since there isn't much content to index. If you want to take advantage of free SE traffic, get some content on your site .... pages of helpful information on your topic, use heading tags <h1> one per page, and move the style and javascript into external files to move your content higher up on the pages.

You would also need to get links in. This may not be what you need for what I see as a strictly sales site, but you might want to do a content site about smoking and use it to drive traffic to your sales site.

For affiliates, make sure you get your program listed in Affiliate Directories, including that of our host here, www.associateprograms.com . You may want to put some ads re: your affiliate program into internet marketing newsletters as well.

Hi Debs,

Thanks for getting back to me....

if ppc is paypal I am.
I am listed in inktomi but not yahoo for url's.
I am not listed in many directories yet. I'm not sure what directors are worthwhile.

I am planning to take your advise and turn my index into a more direct sales page this weekend.
I'm also not sure how to turn java and style into exteranl files, but will do some research to figure it out.

Your a peach Debs- thanks again.

Walt

PPC refers to pay per click search like Google Adwords and Overture.

Do a search on Google for "external javascript help" see if it gets you where you need to go Smile You can also view source on my site and see how I did it.

Java and javascript are two totally different animals ... we are talking javascript on your site Wink

There was a post today or yesterday listing tons of directories and I posted on which ones to concentrate on first, browse the SE forum for it, it's a gold mine.

You may want to look into Clickbank as an alternative source for your product, if it is downloadable. People like instant gratification Smile

I have taken a good deal of your advice and revamped my website:
www.ivequitsmoking.com.

I added much more content and made it more geared for direct sales, fixed my pay links, and added an auto download version for clickbank.

I am still looking into the javascript and associate links.

Iwould love for you to download a free copy of the book if you're interested. Just send me an E-mail.

Thanks.
