Hi
I finally got my site up at the end of January (sbi site using frontpage). I still have tons of work to do - lots of topics to cover etc. I would appreciate any feedback.
I am thrilled to be getting traffic - its only about 30-40 people a day but it is still exciting.
I have a couple of questions.
1. I have about 6 incoming links but they don't show up in google. Is there a trick to get them to show up or do I just wait?
2. I saw someone suggest that it is better to use a form for e-mail rather than posting my e-mail address. Can someone elaborate?
I think it is great that there are so many people willing to help each other. Everytime I am discouraged at how one person acts I am pleasantly surprised by another who does something nice.
Thanks in advance _________________ XSitePro Review Creating affiliate and adsence income producing websites coundn't be any easier! |

Valerie, request a site review in the appropriate forum if you would like feedback on your site, that way it stays relevant to the topic.
As far as your questions are concerned.
1. There is really not much you can do to "help" Google find those links, except to click them (so SBI Value Exchange may pick them up) and also submit the other site's page with your link on it to Google. Other than that all you can do is wait (and make sure the links are, in fact, spiderable). There are various threads on this subject if you do a search you can get more info on how to be sure they are spiderable.
2. SBI's FormBuildIt is what you need to use to build a form for contacting you. A simple form, first name, email, and a comment box is all you need. You then paste the code provided into your "contact" page. By not providing your email in text format you help keep the spambots from taking your email and selling it to their customers ... which reduces the amount of spam you are likely to get.
Hope this helps,

Unless they have a PR of 4 or above, you won't seem them as reciprocal links in Google.
PR stands for "Page Rank" which is a scale that goes from 0-10 that Google assigns to pages. You can see a pages PR by downloading the Google search toolbar. _________________ Robert

Add urls here:
http://www.google.com/addurl.html
remember, you are adding the urls of the other site's page that has your link ... don't submit your own pages, SBI takes care of that for you.
Robertb is right though, unless the site linking in has at least a high PR3 your backlink won't show in Google results, but the link will still count toward your own PR.
You can get the Google toolbar free here:
http://www.google.com/intl/jw/options/toolbar.html
I don't recommend you get too wound up over PR for your site, or the sites that link to you. Just build content, and get links in and everything else falls into place.
