Post subject: Making contact with Small Retailers
|
|
|
Hi All,
I'm new to the forum and I'm needing some advice.
I am currently running a website that is targeted towards the small independent shop owner. I am not going to detail my website or describe what it entails as I understand that this Forum doesn't tolerate blatant self promotion.
What I'm hoping to understand from you guys is what is the best way of targeting these small independent shop owners and what is the best way of communicating with them. Do they use these Forums or Social Media sites a lot. Is there anybody on this forum that runs a small shop and can answer any of these queries.
Hope this thread is ok adminstrators.
Thanks _________________ Rubber |

Most independent retail owners are never heard of affiliates or affiliate networks and most owners are new to Internet marketing and they're desperate to find the way to promote their website on the Internet and they after only one thing which is high volume sales. The Best way to approach them is just contact the owners and explain what you're all about and how they can benefit and increase their sales. Also you can create an avatar for this niche and start doing article marketing.

If you want to sell local you'll need to hit the pavement face to face. You'll need to "Prove" what you can do and how the owner can profit from you.
I have owned and worked for several small businesses. I can tell you what they don't do. They don't sit around searching the web for advertising opportunities. Small business owners are extremely busy. If you want their time you have to get yourself in front of them and you had best be ready to show them the proof.
Why would they buy from you and not the local Yellow Pages Directory? Most small businessmen work off referrals. One method we used was to join the local business groups and then give presentations to those groups.
Can you find a group of small businessmen in your area for which you can give a presentation? _________________
