Post subject: Idea for getting free, original content written by an expert
|

I just made a neat win-win deal to get enough free, original articles to fill a whole new section of my website. Not spammy stuff or fluffy space-fillers, but genuinely informative articles written by an expert.
Through forums in my field, I've gotten to know an innovative gal who is an expert on a topic that would greatly interest my site visitors. I've been wanting to add a section to my site about this topic, but I'm not familiar enough with the current ins and outs of it to really write good articles on it myself.
So in the process of exchanging website links with this gal today, we came up with the idea that she'll write me an article per week that I can add to the new section of my site - and she has tons of articles in mind, so she's really planning to make this section a thorough information resource. In exchange, each of her articles will carry her byline and a resource box at the end with links to her two websites.
She's basically receiving the same deal from me as she would if she submitted her articles to be published in other people's ezines. The difference is that her articles will occupy a permanent part of my site, and not have the "here today, gone tomorrow" aspect of being published in an ezine.
My site visitors are exactly the target market she wants her two websites to reach. So for her it's like getting permanent, targeted advertising for free. And for me, the free expert articles on information my visitors want is too good to pass up!
I'll be monetizing my pages that contain her articles with AdSense and an occasional discreet affiliate link, which she has agreed is okay with her.
I thought this neat kind of win-win deal for content might be useful for some of you to try too - whether you're on the article-author side or website-publisher side of the deal. It was so easy to arrange, and she is as thrilled about it as I am! _________________ www.home-jewelry-business-success-tips.com

Sounds like a great arrangement.
Speaking with my writer's hat on, I'd much rather receive a permanent quality link than the five dollars some people have suggested! _________________ Wyrdology - For all things strange |

For the sake of both parties, I think it's generally worth having a web archive of ezine issues.

This is how I think.
I find it hard to believe that I could find a native English speaker who would be able to research and write an original article for anything near $5 that I wouldn't end up having to rewrite myself (even if I did trust their sources).
For that price they'd have to be living in a third world country or a lunatic asylum.
All the best,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

Great deal you have there. I am now thinking of the many ways to form a joint venture. We ofter hear about the publisher-affiliate type. But I think yours is unique and would be a great addition to my 'JV styles' right now. _________________ Iszuddin Ismail aka Kidino
