Secretly & Ethically Cloak/Redirect your Affiliate Links with Ease!
This strategic marketing technique is very easy to do with WordPress, but can also be done by anyone willing to take the time to implement it on their site with cloaking software, PHP Redirects, or .htaccess files.
If you are not doing this you are leaving money on the table - a lot of money on the table. Just this past week I made a $65 commission I hadn't even thought about, from a link I made a very long time ago. From a company I am no longer actively promoting. A nice surprise.
I use a WordPress Plugin to do it for me because it's so much easier to manage. The other reason I use A Plugin designed specifically for affiliate marketing is reporting. I know exactly what links are being clicked on and from what sites. This knowledge makes it possible for me to replace dead/non-performing affiliate links. Without this knowledge it's very hard to know what is and isn't working. And you don't want to waste time promoting links that don't make you money.
The reason its so much more powerful with WordPress is RSS. Go ahead and set your RSS Published feed to FULL and NOT Summary. Embed your affiliate links and let your readers click direct to your affiliate offers from their RSS Reader. If you don't do this you are wasting an opportunity to make more money.
RSS Feeds are easy to distribute. Blog content is easy to distribute. And Cloaked Links embedded into your content won't come across to site administrators as spam when it's included properly.
Put Content Scrapers to Work for You!
If you know what scraped content is then you are probably p'sd off when your site content gets scraped, but you should look at this as an incredible opportunity. I used to get angry, but then I switched over to WordPress on nearly all my affiliate projects and now welcome the scrapers.
Why? Because not only are they creating backlinks to my sites... they are actually creating direct links to the affiliate programs I use with MY AFFILIATE embedded on their sites. That's right, by stealing my content they are actually making me money!
How this Simple Method Will Make You More Money
Scrapers use software to "steal" the content on your sites to display on their own. They can do this by hand... cut and paste, or they can do it with software. When they use software they don't take the time to remove all your pesky affiliate links. Most of the time they don't even see your affiliate and realize they are promoting your affiliate links for free! There simply isn't enough time to do it by hand usually so they use software. And the software will pull all your content including you links.
So scrape away... and take all my affiliate links and embed them into your sites for me - thank you scrapers! Free money for me!
Change Affiliate Code Easily
But what makes this marketing method even more powerful is by using a plug in I can log on and CHANGE to a new affiliate program any link... any link by cutting and pasting in new affiliate code to replace the old code.
Think about that for a moment. For example I promote printer ink - have been doing it for more than 10 years now. Big money, big profits. Lots of scraping. And lets say that Company A goes out of business or decides they do not want to use affiliates or they simply quit paying into their affiliate account and the 3rd party network cuts them off.
Suddenly all your affiliate links you placed 1 at a time by hand are toast! And what's worse if you have affiliate links coded by hand that get scraped they are no longer working!
By cloaking your links - there are many ways to do this, but Plugins make it simple and take seconds where most cloaking methods take much longer - all you have to do is paste in new code directly in your WordPress Admin Plugin Panel and all your links are automatically updated to the new affiliate.
So all the scraped links on 100's of sites are automatically updated too! Think about that. You can update affiliate links on sites you don't even own! You can get back at the content thieves and they don't even know it. They are actually now working for you!
