Hi, I am a total newbie just getting started here, I haven't even figured out what affiliate program to join yet. I have read the basics but still don't know how to start. However I would like to try my hand at selling products. I would very much appreciate the help, thank you. |

You start by finding a customer base... figuring out a solution to a problem. Then you work backwards from there. If you never identify a market you won't make any money.
So what do you know about? What can you write about? Think about things you have purchased online? Who did you buy from? Why did you buy from them?
I tend to shop Costco so I TRUST my purchased from Costco. So I'm comfortable buying from Costco Online as well. I read an interesting report that pretty much reaffirms my own buying behaviors, and that is people will buy from Stores and Brands they know and Trust.
So start there. What have you bought online? Why? did they offer an Affiliate Program. Where do other people who have purchased the same items you buy... buy their items? _________________

| Thanks for the reply, I'm actually looking into my costumer base now. If I had to say what I know about the most it would be technology equipment or decorating but I still only know the basics like how they work and stuff. I remember buying a gameboy advance from amazon a few years ago but thats pretty much about it. However I did receive it with no problems . |

Affiliate marketing is a very complex subject. I think there are a few threads here that discuss the basics (if Allen sees this thread, he will most likely point them out). Do you have any specific (not general) questions about affiliate marketing that you need answered? _________________ Wealthy Affiliate Review

No, I've pretty much read all the basics, I just don't know which program to choose. I looked at the Associates Program for Amazon. They don't accept my state for some weird reason . |

North Carolina, NY, and I believe Hawaii either have already passed laws to tax affiliate transactions or they are working on them. Thus Amazon is pulling out of these states while they fight this in the courts. _________________

With affiliate marketing you do not need to stick to one product or one network
I promote hundreds of products from a wide range of affiliate program networks.
There are places like clickbank, linkshare, commission junction which have a broad spectrum of products _________________ Free Marketing Videos

The most important thing is to understand the process of affiliate marketing first. Once you understand that, then it doesn't matter what affiliate program you join to make money.
The opportunities are available all over the place, but the toughest part is getting the method right.
Not every ebook will teach you that. _________________ Easy To Do Niche Affiliate Marketing |

Jennifer, good on you!
This forum has a good Beginners Section (look top left <grin>) - good place to start.
I have a big hint for you if you're looking to develop complete personal and financial freedom - look to promoting membership sites providing great value for money services in return for a monthly subscription from the members.
They call this residual income, and as a recipient (and free because of it) I can highly recommend it _________________ ->> Enjoy a flood of Free Targeted Website Traffic - Find out how.

Do you have a website to promote thru? Some affiliate programs work best with a website. Others it's not as important.
Affiliate sites like ClickBank, you are basicly selling products (e-books and e-commerce).
Other affiliate sites are built on residial income. These are more long term. You have to build a downline, and you make money from them also.
So having multiple streams of income is best. Using all different kinds of affiliate programs. _________________ Home Business Ideas |

I would highly suggest Clickbank. They're free to join and have some of the highest converting products around. They also have a lot of products so it's easy to find something you're familiar with to promote. It's always best to promote something you have a passion for in the beginning. As you gain more experience it'll be easier to apply it to other niches. _________________ ==> Micro Niche Finder - My Traffic Ultimatum Bonus <== |

Hi Jennifer...
Depending on whether you want to make money fast, or over many years. There are a couple of ways to go. For the long haul (over years), I'd say use the tradition affiliate programs, you earn residual from creating downlines.
The new wave is to set up 10 or more micro/mini sites and sell ebooks for Clickbank. Two of the better programs are Ewen Chia's new 24 HR Internet Business and Scott Davenport's My Home Wealth System. Use these if you are not familiar with pay-for click programs.
If you need other suggestions, let me know. _________________ Home Business Ideas |
