Hi! My name is Monica and I am from the Netherlands. I am new on this forum! I am writing my thesis about affiliate marketing in the travel industry. My goal is to describe which factors are most important for consumers when booking a trip online and what the role of affiliate websites is in this search process.
I want to set up a large questionnaire to get some conclusions. However, I have some difficulties setting up my research. First of all, I want to do a small research to get some ideas of how to set up my main research. The small research will include some general open ended questions, like:
- How many travel websites will you visit to compare prices and / or packages?
- What kind of research do you do on possible destinations?
- When you use a travel website, what factors are predetermined before you visit and what do you decide on after comparing options?
- How do you find travel websites online?
- What motivates you to finally book the trip?
What do you think of these questions and do you have any ideas for other questions? |

I would visit some forums related to travel and see what kinds of questions people are asking - you can also get some good information from Yahoo Answers as well, as a lot of people may be looking for answers to their travel related questions there.

Those questions seem to be a great starting base as you are trying to find behavioral patterns. Since you are looking for a targeted niche, travel in this case definitely use the search tool within the forums as you will find loads of information out there.
Here is one i know of to get you started, forum.virtualtourist.com but there are plenty of more out there, just look in up in Google : )
