OK, I just created this... maybe sound like a shameless plug, but I hope you see that I am sharing something useful here - especially if you sell (or about to sell) digital products like ebook, audios, videos, etc...
Every now and then, I create scripts and release them, like my PHP-Javascript Countdown.
Now, it's a free Paypal-IPN PHP Script for Digital Download Products - Simple IPN.
My aim with this is really to make it easy to use, and if possible, idiot-proof.

No database required
Uses Paypal IPN
Emails the customers with their download info
Customizable download page, thank you page and email
Multiple files product package
Allows Paypal Sandbox testing
No need to create the Paypal Button form - will generate for you
Don’t have to understand Paypal IPN - just know that it’s more secure
Strict verification process - verifying price, Paypal email address and currency
