| I was recently given the pink slip by my company. I really do not know how to pay my bills next month. Can I get into some business of some kind? |

Hi D, Welcome!
Affiliate marketing is a good way to earn money online because you don't have to create your own product, you don't have to handle warehousing of products, you don't have to worry about postage and packaging, and in most cases you don't handle customers' questions.
A major benefit is that you don't have to invest $100,000 or so buying a business. You can start from scratch and build your own business designed around your skills and interests.
However, there's a lot to learn. For a newcomer, it's unlikely that you'll earn significant money in your first month. I tell people to aim to be earning $300 a month after several months. I believe that's realistic for the average beginner. Some do considerably better. Some do much worse. There are no guarantees. It depends very much on how determined you are to succeed.
If you're seeking a quick, easy income online you're very likely to be easy prey for hype merchants who promise the earth and don't deliver.
One of the most important points to remember is that if you build something that genuinely adds value to the Internet and provides things that people actually want, you increase your chances of having a viable, long-term business.
