I have been an avid reader here at the associateprograms.com forum for some time now and have finally finished "one" of my websites!
http://www.guitar-resource-guide.com
I am continuing to write more articles all the time. The affiliate links are not put in there just quite yet.
I want to thank everyone who posts on this forum. I definitely would have not done, or known, anything about affiliate and how big of an industry it really is!
Any comments, questions, improvements or anything you can think of would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for all your help! _________________ Free Software builds pages of content over time! - Claim it here

Voasi, nice site, clean and very nice graphics.
Just have a minute so couldn't review much. The only thing that really stuck out at me was the underlined headlines. I don't recommend you underline anything except links. People are used to seeing links underlined and may be confused. No sense confusing your visitors ... having the color and size of the font stand out the way you do, there is really no reason to underline headings.

Voasi,
I looked your site over and liked it. Very clean and quick loading on my system. I saw 2 small spelling errors on the home page. Check your last 2 paragraphs. In the next to the last paragraph you have the word wand I think you mean want.
In the last paragraph you have this sentence: And if we don't know you guitar related question, we'll find someone who does. The you should be your.
Good Luck with the site and I hope it makes you a million $$$$

Tgorman and Debs,
Thank you for checking over my site.
Debs: I made those changes that you said. That is a good idea and I never reallly thought of that
Tgorman: Good looking out! I'm pretty good at grammer but never proof-read...I think now, doing these affiliate websites, is a good time to start!
I'm a graphic designer and I'm a marketing specialist for a large web design company as my day job, so i'm hoping that will bring the right mix to get me to the top of the search engines.
Now my only problem is I need (ideas) for affiliate websites...which seems to be the thing that i'm lacking.
Thanks for all your input! _________________ Free Software builds pages of content over time! - Claim it here

For ideas ... look through the news ... what's hot? Is there a merchant providing it? Are the keyphrases profitable?
Do some generic searches on Wordtracker using the "Comprehensive Search" feature in the paid version ... use one word to start ... random, generic words, and see what comes up for profitable keyphrases, then look for merchants to provide the solutions.
If you have a passion, hobby, family interest ... this is a good way to build interesting content that you can convert to affiliate programs and Adsense.

Nice work Voasi
What impressed me the most was how fast it loads .
The only suggestion I have is to add a news letter on new products or what ever so you can build a relationship with you visitors _________________ Life is Good,

I made sure that the pages loaded fast. I optimized the pictures so that they were still good quality and loaded fast at the same time.

I am trying to start a newsletter on new products but I need a source to know what new products are out there
I'm not sure where to look and see to find out...before these new products really saturate the industry. I want to get to the new products while they are new and fresh so that my site is the first to pop up in a search.
Anyways, thank you for your suggestions OleTom.
Debs,
I will continue to find some great industries to start my affiliate websites for. I really believe that I can jump into any affiliate industry and attain top placement as long as I have the 2 main ingredients well established: 1. Good, informative content on subject and 2. Excellent Link Popularity.
But I would much rather find a niche that is easier to tap into for my affiliate websites...
Thanks Debs for all of your wondering posting here on this forum...i'm sure you've helped out more than you know! _________________ Free Software builds pages of content over time! - Claim it here

You probably know this already, but just in case...
New affiliate programs are added to the AssociatePrograms.com directory usually six or seven days a week. You can keep an eye on new programs here: http://www.associateprograms.com/search/new/
That will give you access not only to new products, but to new products that have affiliate programs. _________________ Allan Gardyne

I think your website is great. The design is simple and clean, the way it should be. And the content are informative ...
I do think that you can have more content or be more elaborative with your existing content. For example, the article about how to tune ... I know abit on how to tune and I do think that you can do more than that. If you really provide good quality content, incoming links will pour in.
Apart from that ... hmm ... I think your site is fine. When you start to get search engine traffic, I think you will start to see sales.
All the best ... _________________ Iszuddin Ismail aka Kidino

Your site looks good. I would change one thing though.
I would suggest setting your background color to white. (if that is the color you want.)
I use a theme that doesn't show backgrounds as white. You background shows as meduim grey in my browser which is the default for the theme I am using. _________________ Dave

Great site! Clean design, but rich content! It's a great start!
I did notice a typo, though. On the home page, the general checklist for choosing a guitar, 2nd bulleted line: "Thick and thin strings when you snap you strings "; Did you mean "snap your strings"?
You'd really be better off if your links to zzounds opened in a new window. That way your visitors don't leave your site when they click the link.
Also on the guitar tuning equipment page, check the wording in these two lines - a wee bit awkward...
"Thin, light, and convenient is key to have for when you onstage or at home to just pull it out tune real quick before a performance."
"A built in MIC is pretty standard is you should definitely have it."
That's all I got to for now...if you read my post in the AdSense section, you'll see I've had a LOOOOONG day! Need to shut down pretty soon...
I hope I helped, I think it's a really promising site!
Good Luck!

sophist,
Thanks for the look-out with the gray background. I had no idea. I will definitely change the background to white.
Debbi,
Thanks for the proof-reading. I still need to do that! _________________ Free Software builds pages of content over time! - Claim it here
