Has anyone ever tried one of those sites that promise a ton of traffic for 10, 15 or $30?? They blast to millions of email addresses, etc.
They said they'd give 1000 free hits, so I tried it for free... but not sure I want to pay for more... I'll check the stats to see if I received extra hits.
I agree with Charlie. Spam is something you don't need to get involved with, especially now.
As far as fast traffic, there is no such thing that means what you want it to mean. Charlie has always said, and I agree, traffic is only as good as the targeting it provides ... what good is it if it's poor quality?
It's like being #1 for a phrase noone searches on ... nice ego boost but worthless otherwise.
I've used traffic boosters, hit programs, etc. and believe me, they are worthless, even with Adsense! I did run an experiment last year 10000 unique visitors for $57 ... not one conversion, no change in Adsense at all ... wasted the money but I wanted to try it to see if I was wrong in assuming it would be worthless lol I was right, it was worthless.

Hi All,
Most of those blasters aren't spamming are they couldn't stay in business year after year.
They are sending to safelists ."I used to belong to a few and sent thousands of email with out having a problem." The trouble is almost no one reads those emails they just belong to the list to send theirs not read yours.
As far as the tons of traffic those traffic exchanges will send thousands of people to your site but with a auto surf browser that will only stay 30 seconds and they are only surfing to get hits for their site.
to me in my opinion "Which I have a right to" banner exchanges are better because if they click the banner they must have some interest in what your site is about.
I've used banner exchanges too ... banners are invisible to the majority, and getting more so every day with blockers out there. I get more clicks with standard text link exchanges ... surprisingly, more than I ever thought possible.

Ok heres the deal. I tried this as an experiment. I signed up for 1,000 untargeted visitors from targetedvisitors.info and while they did provide the visitors...only ONE person went past the front page. What they do is utilize expired domains. Whenever someone visits an expired domain they are redirected to your site. (no pop unders)
The experiment went how i expected it to go...And it is pretty much not worth it. The only way I could see using it is by signing up for those search engines that pay you for searches but even then i really doubt it is possible to make your $1.95 back.
In other words, if you are looking for visitors that do anything, dont do it. Post at ALOT of message boards related to your website and put your site in your sig. I have gained 30 visitors a day with this meathod and Im not even listed in any search engines. The best part, people are coming knowing what to expect. _________________ Discounted Golf Equipment

I think it's very hard to underestimate the value of untargeted traffic. One thousand untargeted visitors can be worth something like just one targeted visitor.
It could be even less depending on the traffic's origin. For example, if your traffic comes from pop-unders, probably 9 in 10 people will immediately close your window, so you're already down by 90% before you even start.
Effectiveness of untargeted traffic also depends of how narrow your niche is. The narrower it is, the more worthless untargeted traffic becomes.

Here's an ugly story for you. I just setup an account with $500 at a PPC site. After over 1000 clicks to my merchant affiliate and no sales. I decided to investigate. It turns out majority of the clicks were popups instead of actual visitors clicking through. Bottom line was I stopped the campaign and am asking for a refund as that's not what I thought I was purchasing with a PPC engine. From now on I'll stick with Google Adwords and Overture. At least I know they are real people clicking through to my site.
Does anybody else know of any other decent PPC sites I can advertise on?
Oh yes...I have tried all these mass traffic sites. You know, sites that offer 10,000 visitors for $49. My web site stats showed lots of hits but I received no clicks on any of my links and therefore no sales. I tried sites like monsterpops.com, i-web-marketing.com and paypopup.com. They were all useless.
After trying to figure out what went wrong I stumbled across this script called Fake Hits Master [you can search google for it]. I was kicking myself saying so thats how you get 100s of sites offering 100,000s of visitors. This script sends unique hits to any website. My advice for anyone is to avoid these scams.
I even tried expired domain traffic from easysitehits.com because they were a domainsbot company so I thought they might be credible. I was wrong because all I got was fake hits again. This site was so stupid that it sent all my hits for each day at 7am-8am..probably before the person goes to work. On weekends the hits were spread out a bit more.
Has anyone used expired domain traffic services and found it useful. The theory sounds good but I need to get the right business to supply the visitors.
As for PPC search engines.... Only go for Overture, Google Adwords and maybe Findwhat. The rest will just provide fake clicks because their distribution partners are poor in quality. _________________ http://www.iclickshop.com

I haven't any experience of the smaller PPC sites, but I have heard of others who get better results from the smaller players than they do from Overture.
Either way, I think it's a bit strong to suggest "the rest will just provide fake clicks".
Good point about the source of "hits", though. Automatic rather than clicked traffic is a big no no for PPC, if you ask me.
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

Thanks for the info. I was thinking traffic, traffic... more traffic. You know, play the numbers game. Going with Overture, Findwhat has been ok for me in past ventures.. but wanted to drive some traffic the free or cheap way with an affiliate.
I've made a little bit of money from this, but really need to learn how to generate traffic.
I've read about submitting articles to sites for exposure, trade links with other sites, and other marketing avenues.
Thanks for the info. _________________ $4,000 per month, test drive for free to see how much you can make!!
I now swear by newsgroups. If you can find a legit group (IE not all spam) in your niche then by all means POST POST POST! Make sure that you actually get involed in the discussions though, and dont simply spam your website.
The initial "hmm" factor will bring in hundreds of people depending on the amount of posters. I went from 4 visitors one day to 281 the next
My traffic from newsgroups has filtered down in the past 4 days though, definitely. That said, Im still bringing in about 45 a day from the group.
Give it a shot. It extremely targeted traffic, and 10 targeted visitors will be better than buying 10,000 untargeted. _________________ Discounted Golf Equipment

First off stay away from the places that say they will blast your ad to millions. They are not worth it at all.
Second, Tgorman, how about you let us in on who that particular PPC was so we don't make the same mistake??? Thanks! _________________ Work at Home Based Business
So these services are worthless, right? I was half tempted to give it a shot but keep holding myself back. I need someone to tell me directly not to do it! It has been so tempting for the past 5 days....
And the sad thing is, is that I know they are most likely junk! _________________ Discounted Golf Equipment
