And I was hoping to get some affiliate links today for a new site!
The contents there and I have 5 incoming PR 4-5 links (so far), but there are no comission links in their yet! This is the first site I built using the "Martell" approach (which I told you when I purchased it early through you Debs  )

Great local concept. I just started a new thread regarding local concepts. If you have a chance feel free to give us your thoughts. I know you previously were testing an ad in a local computer paper. How did that go? Are you planning other offline marketing promotions?

Unfortunately the classified ad plan did not go well at all. It could be attributed to many factors, but I only received 100 visitors and no sales. To say the least it was very disappointing and I won't be advertising in that newspaper again.

Robert,
Sorry to hear that paper didn't work out for you. Don't get discouraged. Get creative.
There are tons of offline ideas to target market the offline world.
I brought up this topic in the other thread because with a variety of companies starting to focus on the internet and the global local markets, it will draw alot of media and consumer attention and will therefore create new business opportunities for those in the offline world who know how to develop and market new creative concepts. 
Just my thoughts

My understanding of marketing with classifieds is that it's better to get the sale through a 1-800 number and credit card than online.
Online they can think about what they purchasing and talk themselves out of buying. On the phone, many of your would be sales just buy on impulse.
I guess that really sums it up, sales from classifieds are usually impulse buys. You lose that impulse somewhat online.
