Hi,
What do you all think of the new Adsense ads that they have just released?
I like the new wider sky scaper banner ad as it fits within my site alot better than the old one did. It also shows 5 ads which may in the long run bring in more revenue. _________________ Affiliate Programs Directory - Over 2,000 Programs

Just read these forums and how satisfied others are with havinng adsense on their sites. Don't expect details like clicks / conversion / earnings, as these are confidential and shouldn't be posted (according to Adsense guidelines) _________________ Explore The Most Up to Date Site About How to Succeed with Adwords! |

It all depends where you put the Adsense Ads on your site and how you intergrate them into it. The more you make the Ads to not look like ads the more of a clickthru rate you are most likely to get.
Don't forget, you may not click on the Ads or read them, but then you already know about Adsense. There are alot of people out there that still knows nothing much about the Web. Another words, they have never looked at the web or they have not done much surfing.
When ever I mention about Adsense to others around my way, they don't even know what it is, who its owned by, how much you can earn, etc. |

Yes and no. It depends.
They work extremely well on very simple pages like those on Rupert's http://www.cheap-computers-guide.com where the AdSense ads are placed very prominently. On those pages, you can't possibly miss seeing the ads.
If you want AdSense to work, keep things simple.
In total contrast, on this forum, where the AdSense ads have been added as an afterthought at the bottom of the page, they don't work well.
One reason is probably that the ads often have the same content repeated over and over and the forum has a large percentage of repeat visitors who have seen those ads many times.
Another reason might be that what's written in the forum posts is usually more interesting and useful than the ads.

Yes, same here. I've just tried it on the front page of my main site and although wider it actually reduces the overall width of the page somehow (?!). Looks more balanced too....
Nice to see AdSense developing, but oh how I wish they would develop in the direction of decent reporting so I know what pages are working, which ad formats etc. I want to have my cake AND eat it _________________ Keyword Toolkit - Grab your FREE copy of the new PC version |

We can but hope.
Yet another reason might be that natural language forum posts prove a bit of a challenge for the Adsense algo. The ads often seem scarcely relevant, when they appear for me.
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

Comming back to johns2698 original question,
I see a danger in using the new 5 ads vertical banner, due to the fact that a click on the 5th ad in the tower will certainly bring in less money per click - than on the first ad of the tower.
So I assume the opposite could be true, the 2 ads tower might bring less number of clicks - but with a higher EPC.
Unfortunatly if you have a closer look at the new 2 ads vertical banners, you will notice that Google set them up with a smaller font than the 4 ads or 5 ads banners. And this might also hinder success rates.
Just my two cents. _________________ EL Bavaro |
