Post subject: Affiliate Managers - What do they do?

Hi,
I've seen mention of Affiliate Managers in a number of places since I started browsing some affiliate forums. I was just wondering what they do exactly. Do they take over the management of a merchants affiliate scheme and promote it and generate new signups? Or have I got that wrong?

They get Affiliates in other words they Promote,Promote,Promote

They also provide "customer service" to affiliates and resolve any problems they might have.

They monitor daily/monthly/yearly affiliate program performance, analyze strengths and weaknesses, pinpoint areas for improvement, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
They're virtually "one stop shops" for all affiliate concerns.
