Run tests to find out what works best on the particular site. So run the site for a few days with adsense only. Then run the same test with affiliate links only and finally a few days with both and see what converts the best or earns you the most money
The truth is it's unpredictable what form of monetization will work best on a site.

Use both. Designate the pages that you will not be promoting an affiliate product on for adsense then on your sales/affiliate pages don't put adsense on those in order to focus the visitor on your product promotion. . .

First you use both.
You start with affiliate marketing as you would make more money this way.

according to me adsense is best. easy and quick way of confirm income. so i prefer google adsense
