I tried to register as an affiliate for audible.com directly as well as through commission junction but both times, I immediately got an email from them saying:
==
We regret to inform you that your application for a publisher
account in the Commission Junction network has been denied
due to ineligibility for membership.

Only bona fide business customers may apply and Commission Junction
==

How do they decide if an affiliate is NOT a "bona fide business"?Instantly?!

Is there some kind of geographical blocking or blacklisting?

I tried to email them to ask why my application was rejected instantly and got a return receipt that siad that my email was deleted without being read!

Did you enter a company name, or id number when you applied? Did you give them a related website url?

I know there are countries that can't promote using some of the networks, but I am not familiar with which countries fall into this category. I believe it has something to do payment processing.

Thanks Debs

Can someone tell me if there is a auto filter screening publisher's traffic too?

How this work out? By the number of click-thru in cj network ?
And what are the scales for different traffic level ?

I am not sure what you mean by filter so I cant answer that.

Most merchants in CJ have either a pay per lead where the visitor has to take some action on either the merchants site, or through a form the merchant allows you to host on your site; or

Pay per sale, where you earn either a fixed rate or percentage commission on sales.

There may be some pay by clicks or by ad impressions, but I haven't seen them.

Each merchant sets their own payment levels ... it is quite common for good converting affiliate sites to be able to negotiate private levels with the merchant directly.

Not auto reject, but there is a "merchant approves manually" tag that some merchants use.

Atleast I haven't seen any evidence of an auto reject if your site doesn't meet merchant requirements.

I was auto-rejected by eBay.com (I live in Australia, but have sites targetted to Americans). I assumed it was because of my address.

Anyway, I put in all zeros for my tax number as someone here suggested, then reapplied and was auto-accepted.

Thanks!

Great tip Tom!

Thanks for the heads-up - I think I will go try it out on a program I applied to back in January that sent me the dreaded auto-rejection.

Fingers crossed!
