To say all you need is good content is completely wrong.
Open up a store in any city. Don't put up a sign. Just open up.
How are you going to attract customers? How are people going to find your great content?
Online Marketing relies on SEO as an adjunct customer stream. If you ignore it completely you may still have traffic, but you won't fully maximize the potential of your project.
And to overlook simple things that can make a huge difference is a poor business strategy.
I am always amazed that so few people ever take the time to analyze where there traffic comes from and what they look at and why.
SEO is a whole constellation of "methods" combined to create Organic traffic. And visitors who find your site through their own searches tend to be more attentive to the message you deliver. You know this by analyzing your traffic.
So while there are cases where marketers intentionally avoid SEO methods, the vast majority would be remiss to overlook the potential gains. _________________

Well, from what I have witnessed, there will always be a group of people who swear by at least ONE arrow in the quiver.
However, it is a holistic approach. Promotion is not a one trick pony. In this current economic environment, you pull out all the stops.
SEO just makes sense. It costs you TIME. The earlier you do it the better because it makes you money "later." I always do it first because it DOES take time.
Then I strategically plan my paid advertising one line item at a time for testing. It is wash rinse repeat. Nothing new under the sun.
Persistence, perseverance, patience. Period. _________________ The Way A Rebate Program SHOULD Be Done

I used to think that way as well.
Actually I resisted keyword research and SEO practices because I thought my websites would be popular because of my vast knowledge of the subject matter and the quality of the information I was providing.
The result was that I found vastly inferior and often inaccurate content consistently outranking me in the search engines. I finally came around and realized that to get the type of traffic I wanted I would have to change my thinking.
Now that I have changed my way of thinking I have found effective SEO combined with high-quality content is an unstoppable combination.
With that said I don't think you need SEO if your website is simply meant to be an online info source for family, friends, etc. It may also be possible to get traffic with quality content and no SEO...but I believe this route will take a much longer time.
All The Best,

Since we are still in childhood SEO and there are a lot of changes happen. Everyone understand the key to finally catching up to be users to search a currency as a "faith communities." Basically the user is looking for someone close to them, especially if you are a retail store or local hardware. _________________ online background checks |

I do agree. To have a successful store you would have to work on its visibility online. But also focus on in-store marketing and perhaps retail media.
But SEO - definite key to success. My friend has a boutique store and has used SEO services to help her website and was happy with the results. |
