Yes but it takes a while to know how to do all that doesn't it? You left out an important one out too. Choosing the right keywords is vital for success.
I am not sure what you are offering in your post. What about some suggestions for where to go to learn it all?
Each of those topics requires some study to learn how to do it well. With the number of beguiling sales letters that don't live up to their promises people can end up spending a fortune before they learn the right combination of skills.
Here is my suggestion. Once you have learnt what to do make a plan and stick to it. Try not to be distracted by every offer that comes along. Most people fail because they keep changing course.

How does promotion boost your profit? Promote all you want. Advertise till you are blue in the face.
So many do this, do that's... and so little actual factual "How to".
It's CONVERSION that matters. And "How to" ... involves quality content, quality design (You have to figure out what that means on your own). Conversion involves looking closely at your traffic... what did they click on, what did they ignore? Where did they come from and what keywords did they use to find your pages?
Promotion in and of itself is only a small part in the CONVERSION PROCESS. Copywriting plays a big role in the process as well.
The bottom line is this: MOST of what I read in forums is useless regurgitated dribble. Most posts are just someones attempt at plugging a signature file link with some kind of affiliate product (I'm not being hypocrite here... I do that as well). The reasons I plug are financial for sure, but for other purposes (Testing what works!!! - testing headlines, etc.). I know what phrases bring traffic to my sites and which ones do not. You as a Marketer should try and always figure this out with your own testing methods.
I'm not trying to insult the poster of this thread... what I am simply trying to say is this: It's always about figuring out what the customer wants and when you can do that then you can figure out how to SELL your products/services.
So go ahead and Promote, but before you promote make sure you have your backend ready to CONVERT your traffic.
I have a friend that wrote a nice article on a hot topic one afternoon. She posted her article to a popular Social site. She got over 17,000 visitors in 1 day! She made NO money. Because she didn't have her backend ready for the traffic.

Increasing site conversion takes a lot of work, but it definitely pays off in the end. Another, very easy way to earn more with your affiliate commissions is to increase your margins. All it takes is a little shopping around and talking to affiliate managers.
