That's about $273 per month per website. That's a reasonable goal for someone starting out.

Thats proof that true richness can be made from affiliate marketing. In my opinion - much, much more can be made. You just have to use your innovative mind and get to work.

But they are also making income from other companies, not just
eBay, so they could very well be spending that much on

Wow, I thought my 15 minutes of fame were up, but then I noticed all the traffic to some of our sites from these posts and just had to set things straight.
I knew when the Entrepreneur article came out that there would be some confusion about the amount of advertising money we spend and the earnings from eBay's affiliate program. As a few of you have noticed, the advertising spend is for all of the affiliate programs we promote of which there are more than a thousand and it's not just to promote eBay.
More details:
Of the 550 sites we own, only about 20 of them are used to drive traffic to eBay.
We didn't actively start promoting eBay until around April or May of 2004 after reading about other affiliates who had made commissions of over 1 million dollars that January and Dec. of 2003.
Our eBay commissions for the past 4 months have been in the $250,000 range (per month) and our advertising costs for just the eBay program are around $65,000 per month.
I consider ourselves very fortunate to have this kind of success with affiliate programs and I wish I could say we were some kind of geniuses who built a better mouse trap, but that's just not the case. We just spend a lot of time in front of the computer trying all kinds of ideas to see what works and when we do, we devote more time to those ideas. What works today doesn't always work tommorrow and you must keep trying new things.

Thanks for stopping by KayeTech. Good to hear you clearing things up. Less confusion before rumors spread is always a plus. Very impressive, just you and your wife. Nice job.
How did you get started...if you don't mind me asking? Do you still have your 1st initial site up? 
Would be great if you could give some insight to some of the newbies in here.

HMMMMmmmm!!! I must be doing something terribly wrong. I have made About $3.90 in commissions from ebay since January.
$1.3 mil -- $3.90 HMMmmmmmm----again!! Of course I never studied all the ebay tools and what others are doing. Maybe it is time.
OH by the way, thanks for mentioning the ebay rule about no EBAY in the URL. I had them in the URL and removed them last night. A good heads up that may have saved me $1 mil in the future.......LOL!
