Hello Everyone,

My website visitors count is increasing every week but the sales are very poor! Atleast in the past, I used to get some signups for my newsletter but I haven't had any new signups recently. If you can respond to this message after looking at my website, that will great!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Thanks
Louis

Hi Louis,

The only comment I would make is that, after briefly visiting
your site I did not feel lead to buy anything. You have a lot of
information but if you want to increase your conversion you
really need to take your visitors by the hand and show them
exactly what you want them to do.

I hope this helps.

Best success,

Rick Katz

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your time and the tip. Maybe that explains why we used to get more newsletter signups in the past. The website was smaller with less ebooks and less information.

We have been tweeking some text content to make this search engine friendly and to improve search engine ranking...

Any other comments... please.

Hello Louis,

I took a quick look at your site and offer. You have obviously dedicated a a lot of work towards gathering all the various links and ebooks that you have, you just need some work on your presentation.

I may sound a bit harsh, but I am going to dissect your page a bit here with the intent of helping you. There is no reason for you to throw away all of your hard work.

Like Rick kind of mentioned, you have no real focus, just a massive list of ezines. This creates a sense of "well, why should I download one or the other ezine?". And I leave.

Your Headline, "Free Ebooks for You!" does nothing for me. In fact, it could have the opposite effect - I then think, free? - can they really help me afterall?

What problem does your site solve, what magic button are you trying to get people excited about, at least excited enough to go ahead and download those 4 books and sign-up to your newsletter?

Your headline should make your offer crystal clear as a specific benefit to your visitor. Something like...

Quote:
Achieve financial freedom through your online endeavors by following the tested and proven methods of other very successful individuals.

Don't waste your time in front of the TV, start to educate yourself by reading techniques of some of the best marketers online and earn some income for yourself.

This isn't hype, just info that works, it's up to you how you will use it. Don't take my word for it though, see for yourself by reading the powerful tips and techniques that these individuals reveal to you.

You can START RIGHT NOW with my FREE TRIAL OFFER, get

1)
2)
3)
4) (I would use the short ads that the authors provide for these ebooks - the ones you are using need a little work)

I am offering these courses to you as an immediate download, FREE OF CHARGE, as a sample of the powerful info that you will find on this site, no obligation, my gift to you.

Just leave your name and email address below (don't worry, your email address is safe, I respect your privacy) and I will automatically send you the link where you can get your 4 FREE ebook downloads. And as an added bonus, I will send you my newsletter once a month (or whatever you do) with a new FREE ebook each month. You can cancel at any time.

I just whipped this up on the fly, so it could probably use some improvement. I just wanted you to understand what I mean. Isn't this more inviting? It gives the visitor something specific to do, and a reason to do it. I bet your CR% would improve noticeably.

If I were running your site, I would take away all the clutter, and distribute the info into separate clickable sections. Make your initial offer the main focus, and try to keep your visitors focused on this. In the end, if they click, they will be much more qualified to later receive your other offers. I would just focus on one action to start.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Hi Timothy,

Thanks for the detail review and for your time taking a good look at our site. We have made some changes...

Also, we have removed the complete listing of all the ebooks and all our affiliate links from our home page. As you have guessed it, if there is just one thing we want from our first-time visitors, then that would be their email address.

We have put the form right on our home page instead of making the visitors click on 'Click here to get free ebooks' link to get the form and fill out their info.

We use 'Make Your Site Sell' as a reference (we haven't read the whole thing - it is great but it's too big). That's the reason, we have some of the top sellers on the left side panel - myss says that it is good for window shoppers... but what you said makes sense that it may be distraction for people who are considering our newsletter signup and free ebook offer.

We have removed most of the links from our right panel. We are going to leave the top sellers on the left panel for some more time to see how the response is and later maybe remove it if the response isn't that good.

We visited your websites as well for ideas....

Thanks
Louis

Timothy, What an absolutely superb review! It deserves to be published widely as a classic piece of advice for affiliate newcomers.

Louis, you need help but you're too busy to carefully study the one book that could help you more than any other on the Internet?

Think about that.

Probably the most effective thing you could do right now to help your affiliate business would be to take a break from it and read Ken's book seven or eight times.

Hello again,
I just made some changes to our home page. As mentioned by Timothy, we have removed some of clutter and other distractions. We still have our 'Hotsellers' on the left panel...

If any of you some time, please comment on it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Louis,
I like the topic of financial freedom and multiple income streams.
Your home page looks colorful with some professional graphics. The handshake and the quill pen have been around for a long time and look old.

When I look at your page at first glance I see only 1 income stream which is internet work. I know there are others, but I had to look twice to catch them. (Home-based = internet to me)

Less common words make a reader stop and possibly click away.
Dreamt is that word for me. Is Dreamed more common?

Other words you highlight that I've not heard before are
Boot Sales and Market Stalls. Industry specific lingo loses your reader. Studies show that a reader will read into a paragraph and then ignore it at the first word she doesn't understand.

BTW There's a small typo in Ebook #4: YOUR WON'T get most out of the above...

The layout seems continuous until the end of Ebook #5. You restart your page "Looking for multiple sources of income?" and then give me a link to recommend the page to a friend.

I didn't want to read through everything, so I jumped to the bottom. When I got there, there was nothing for me. Duplicate the links in your header at the bottom? Where do you want me to go?

I didn't read all the bottom copy. If you choose to keep it, try breaking up the comma-list into bulleted items.
Instead of:
small business owners, home business owners, stay-at-home moms, unemployed individuals, fresh college graduates and others

How about the
* Small Business Owners Who Want to Double Their Sales in 3 months.
* Stay-At-Home Moms Can Earn That Vacation with Time to Spare.
* etc

Show them your goal in terms of what she wants in her life. Telling it sounds like you aren't sure you arrived.

Other affiliates you might want to look into are self-discovery like
Robert T. Kiyosaki - Rich Dad Poor Dad

You present the products that will help me get my financial freedom and then you want me to PAY for it by GIVING you my email address. That would cause me to click off the site and then search the net for one of your items elsewhere.

You already sold me on a free ebook, now remind me of what I'm getting so I want to read what will arrive in my email box.
Add a teaser you didn't discuss like financial freedom tips, reviews of the most popular, or 10 steps to making money work for you.

I just reread Allan's comments above. Much of what I wrote is in Ken's material. These guys are the experts on this stuff. They'll save you a lot of testing.

I don't know if this will help you - but we have a section on our site that has free ebook downloads, plus a paid-ebook bookstore. When we separated out each section of freebies + bookstore, our sales went up, our number of downloads went up, our affiliate sales also went up and Adsense revenue went up.

Perhaps break your up your download pages into smaller, individual sections. You'll have the double benefit of people surfing to only the pages that interest them - and Google then list each page separately - and alter the ads to suit the keywords for the individual topic.

(e.g. http://www.fictionfactor.com/freebies.html )
That's the page for the freebies index. There are 5 individual freebie pages that link from this for the reasons listed above.

Hope that helps

Hi there!

I am Lokesh. Louis is on vacation so I am responding.

Thanks Mike and Lea for your comments. This forum is really very responsive. We are getting some great tips!

After reading Mike's comments, last week I made some changes. Definitely, when I put myself in the the surfer's shoes, I can feel the difference. The visitors are visiting other pages from my home page because I put some links at the end of the text with description of what those categories may contain (ex. ...promote your business online with our Exclusive Internet Marketing Ebooks). I visited your website as well.

We are trying to create our own OPTIN Email list and that's why we are asking for their email in return for free ebooks and ezine. We want to send newsletter atleast twice a month. I think it helps in the long run for online businesses...

The only other change that I can think of for getting more newsletters signups is to put the form as high as possible on the home page. Also, make the signup form bigger and colored differently (hopefully that will help us).

BTW, I made it a point to read 50 pages of myss everyday during the week. I think it is about time now...

After reading both your comments, I get the feeling that the categories at the top panel (home business, internet marketing, auction, asset protection etc.), are not noticed at a GLANCE. Well, considering that most surfers are very impatient, they would never know that there are more categories.

IS it because the 'category' panel's font size is very small or is it because of the positioning of the categories??? We need the left panel for for 'HotSellers' list and complete listing. Is it a good idea to put all those categories at the bottom as well???

Lea, I visited your website and saw what you meant by categorizing the FREE and PAID stuff. That will be in my list of changes now... that may take some work but I think that is a good idea (since you've had first hand experience in increasing sales because of this).

Any other suggestions???

Thanks
Lokesh
