Hello Guys,

I am reading through the topics and information since over a week now and wanted to start in the next couple of days.

I thought I'll get started with SBI!, but now I am thinking if its really worth it, as I have the Super Affiliate book and have already knowledge of html/php and web designs.

I've got already a niche with great demand and less supply.

What I only need is some kind of Autoresponder/webhoster/domain/blogger(but need to do more research on this one) to get my self started and I think that this will be cheaper than the SBI! solution.

Would that be enough to get started?

Thanks for your input.

Yes, that could definitely be cheaper, depending on the companies you choose. You can, for example, get free website building tools and free blogging, and a member of this forum provides a very cheap autoresponder.

On the other hand, what you get with SBI isn't just web hosting and a suite of tools. Far more important than that, I believe, is the comprehensive EDUCATION that comes as part of the package.

Building a successful business online is much more about gaining useful knowledge than collecting the right tools. For years, I used to build my websites in raw HTML written on free Notepad. I learned how from a two-page article in a computer magazine.

Good tools are useful, but a good teacher is 100 times more useful.

Hello Allan,

Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't the Super Affiliate e-book cover all the necessary education + your website. OR are there some information on SBI! which aren't somewhere around and which definitely guide you to success?

If you mean Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Handbook, it won't teach you everything that SBI does. However, the Super Affiliate Handbook is a top-notch manual, a really good introduction to affiliate marketing. It's an excellent place to start.

If you choose it you'll also need to get web hosting and a website builder of some sort, such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver (or one of the free ones), and an autoresponder service if you're going to use autoresponders.

I've got already experience with building websites, so that shouldn't be a problem Webhoster and Domain neither.

Just to confirm, autoresponder is to manage the emailing to the customers who subscribe to your newsletter, right?

So I need some kind of newsletter function as well, or does the autoresponder provide this as well ?

Anything else I would need ?

Thanks for any info in advance.

If you use a service like Aweber or Newsletters-For-You, yes. Their services can be used both as an autoresponder (an automatic email reply system) and for publishing newsletters.

That's plenty to start with. Affiliates generate revenue in dozens or hundreds of different ways. They more you learn, the more you'll find out about all the different options.

I recommend that you start with a very simple site. Concentrate on getting the basics right. When you've done that, you can complicate things if you wish.

Affiliate guides mostly tell you how to sell others products online.

Building a business on a website is ENTIRELY different.

SBI! teaches you some amazing stuff, you'd be pressed to find somewhere else.

By the time you add all the extra stuff you need, getting your different softwares to all match up with each other, etc. You will have spent more on doing all that, rather than just paying SBI! $25 a month.

They've got some amazing stuff there for us to succeed.

I promise, if you read the Action Guide, you'll see that it's much different than what you are thinking.

The affiliate guides don't tell you where to place proper keywords.

They don't tell you what the important high demand / low supplies keywords ARE.

Affiliate guides don't create perfect XML sitemap files for you, nor do they submit your pages to the TOP search engines after you build a new one or update an old one.

It's like buying a book on how to build a kitchen. That doesn't mean with that info that you could build an entire house. Smile

Hello,

@bright-eyed
Obviously you are right with this. What I meant was actually, if I could bring up a profit making website without SBI!, if I had a lot of resources (and knowledge about web designs etc.) and of course along with this website(associateprograms.com), some other pages with information.

I've just calculated the costs without SBI! and you are right. I would pay more or equally and would have more hassle. So I decided to get myself SBI!(Hopefull the monthly installments still works on that site)and get myself started with the website tomorrow Smile.

Btw.there are other resources, which help you find a niche with high demand / low supply(What I've already found).

Thanks for your input guys.

First off I am not a fan of the "Canned Look" of SBI. But Allan makes a very good point about the EDUCATION you get from using the service.

But you do need to have an exit strategy as well if you plan to port your project over later on should you choose not to continue with SBI.

So from an Education standpoint alone SBI could be worth it to you.

For me. I'd invest in Reseller Hosting (Which I do) with excellent support.

Then I'd invest in Script Software and Add Ons like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, Expression Engine.

This way you own your destiny.

Moving Cyber Property can be an enormous effort.

Have I understood it correctly

I can't move my complete website to a different provider/web hoster later on ?

I am sure it will get more complex in the future and probably won't be manageable from site build. I actually just need to download my pages and upload it to a different hosting server and then re-route my domain(Is that possible?).

Any confirmation if thats possible?

Hi Gurisingh,

Yes, you most certainly can move a site from SBI to another host if you wished too, but it would be unlikely that you would wish to.

There is very little that is not manageable by Site Build It! Smile

What is a 'canned look'?

And why do you think that SBI! doesn't allow for "your own destiny"?

Take the time to read the SBI! Action Guide. At the end of reading it, you may have enough knowledge to decide what to do.

a regular internet searcher doesn't recognize a "canned look" from a beautifully designed website. i learned that from different test and observation of website traffic and performance. the more important aspect of a website that a regular visitor looks for is the content - whether it would help find a solution to their problem or not.

i've been bookmarking a lot of sbi produced site on some of the niches that i'm into and are interested in - some of them are even no. 1 in very competitive keywords in all the major search engines.

don't get me wrong, i don't have any sbi sites and i'm not even promoting them. but the more i research on sbi, the more i'm convinced that their system works.

i even asked a coder if he could create an sbi-like site for me but i thought it would be cheaper if i just purchase one from sbi and have access to their system and full access to the forum at the same time.

Yea, it's not about the coding that makes SBI! websites so successful.

It's all about what's in the Action Guide and the SBI! forums.
