Post subject: CJ auto-declines: what's that about?

I'm fairly new to CJ but a few times I find that merchants decline my applications for reasons that are totally opaque to me.
Today, I applied to promote two UK credit card programs (I'm in the US, if it matters) and was automatically declined both times.
Is this common? _________________ - blake

Yes, merchants set their own terms on the sites they will approve ... common factors merchants use to auto decline include:
low traffic count (based upon info you submit usually --- although they can check it later)
site not geo-targeted in either content or location
you aren't in the "right" category or subcategories they want to target (you select your category and subcategories) This is a common reason for auto declines I've found. Since then, I've set mine to be quite broad.
Hope this helps,

Thanks, Debs ... I feel a broadening coming on.
It's seems silly, especially with so many people promoting via AdWords. _________________ - blake

You can also contact the merchants who "auto-declined" you directly and ask them why, and ask them to reconsider ... include a paragraph on why you feel your site meets their needs
I did this with one merchant I really wanted to promote and found out my traffic was too low ... once it jumped a bit, I emailed back and got approved right away!
