Hi Smith,
Well Ok, here are a few opinions.
Perhaps a regular website would be easier to start with? The differences between a blog and site aren't all that big really.
A blog usually means that you will be constantly (often every day) providing new articles. A blog looks funny if it hasn't been updated in weeks or months. A website doesn't. So unless you're ready to create new quality content on a regular basis, stick with a regular website for starters perhaps.
But before you do either...
You don't need any technology at all to do most of the work. You can go ahead right now, while you're still learning about web technology, and write 50 great health articles.
I'd suggest you write those articles first. Show them to friends. Get some feedback. Take a break from the articles for a bit, and then go back, look at them fresh, and rewrite as needed.
A good example perhaps is how real books are published. The authors write and rewrite their chapters a number of times, usually with the help of an editor, and all of this is fully completed before the book is printed.
Things are different online of course, but the point is, don't worry too much about how you're going to publish, until you have something truly useful to publish.
The health business is tricky. Are you truly qualified to give folks advice about their bodies? In any case, you may want to look in to the legal part of providing health information online. You may need to provide disclaimers of various kinds, and it would be smart to know about that.
Not to confuse you too much, but you may not need a website right away. You could as example send your prospects to a signup form to your emailed newsletter, and build your audience that way.
Easier yet, you can also direct people straight to a merchant's site. But, in the long run, it's better if you eventually have them coming to and through you first.
Summary: Don't worry too much about all the millions of details just yet, and get busy writing those 50 great articles.
Best of luck! _________________ Nature-Search.com

Smithsowninn, this question is off-topic. It doesn't belong in a discussion on the appropriate way to advertise affiliate products on forums.

I follow smart working like starting with good informative posts and adding signature to it. Then gradually promoting our products only on those threads where someone as asked. Signature works best here.
Also always remember not to emphasis on your own product very much otherwise you'll be kicked out soon.

The key to getting quality traffic from forums is to find a forum that is highly targeted to your website, become involved in the community, and create a benefit-laden signature.
You can put a link back to your website in your signature. It's critical that you use your signature to offer something of extreme value along with a good call-to-action. Otherwise, why would anybody click? _________________ Shape your future with ReferForex. Easy earnings with no Investment |

OMG Allan, I've learned more from your post in two minutes than in my whole 6 months dabbling into this thing. I'm kicking myself in the behind for not even getting in this forum or googling for help before. I've been banned on several forums for blatant self promotion. What you wrote here made a lot of sense.
THANKS!!!!

hi there.
I've found the hard way that some people are not really open to affiliate people. Mind you, I used to wonder why they kept on badgering me on one forum that I was on. I did as you described: a highly targeted forum, a well-written signature, and I was highly involved in the forum. I was actually having fun. I think I had been on that forum for two months when I got into a pseudo argument with one of the older users there.
The thing is, he then went on to post things about the affiliate program i was on, calling me a scammer trying to lure the gullible in. Nothing of that sort. For a time, I forgot about advertising there and just really joined the conversations.
But then a ... uh... expletive... moderator there took his side and told me to remove my signature, when everyone else had signatures that were either promoting their products, web sites and other things like mine.
So i stopped going there.
(Oh yeah, it was for a diet pill ) _________________ Down Pillow |

I have a question. Wouldn't it be better to be honest though? I mean if you are an affiliate for say.... a product... and if you really think that the product could help, why not just go flat and say it out loud? _________________ Down Pillow |

I saw the sales page of the affiliate marketers was almost similar to each other. Is there any chance that they only copying the words from others and modify it a bit?
If that so, maybe I can do the same. Just do some fusion between the best sales page and publish it to the net.
Comments and suggestion needed here about this matter.. Thank you. _________________ Timothy Thomas

This is sad. When will they ever learn? Spamming programs & products only makes affiliates look desparate. It is best to just relax and get involved in a few key forums that are targeted best to your niche. From there provide quality answers to people looking for the type of help that your product or service can provide. People Seek Solutions!...and once you provide them with them you really won't have to "promote" your product/service per se, but rather, they will be drawn to it like a MAGNET<<<<
There are a lot of wonderful affiliate marketing tips in this thread and on this forum. There's always something to learn in the exciting world of affiliate marketing. I myself have gained a wealth of my affiliate knowledge right here on AssociatePrograms.com -- and also through a great ebook called Forum Marketing SuperTips (I'll forward you this info.) _________________ Best Affiliate Markets ~ Paid Affiliate Chat ~ Worldwide Advertising Zero Cost!
