Post subject: Marketing dashboard / getitgoing anyone?
|
|
|
Has anyone purchased this new Marketing Dashboard product from Marlon Sanders that is being advertised here on the forum?
It sometimes shows up as an AdSense alternate ad at the bottom of the page. I guess that means Allan is promoting it.
Any thoughts/reviews/observations?
Thanks,
Bobby |

I've looked into it Bobby, but haven't purchased it yet. It's on my "to do" list. It sounds interesting, the price is certainly right for what it purports to do. I would be interested in hearing more from anyone who has actually used it also.

There are a lot of testimonials on the sales page for that product. I guess that's still the formula that works, but I find myself getting more and more cynical every time I read a sales page that includes testimonials from basically the same people over and over.
I'm at a point where those testimonials tend to cause me to be leery of a product rather than be attracted to it. If Joe endorses Bill's product and Bill endorses Joe's product, it's difficult to tell whether the testimonial is objective or self-serving.
That's why, like Deb, I'd like to hear from someone who has used the product, and isn't involved in this quasi testimonial exchange network.

I know exactly what you mean. The trouble is, we are "students of marketing" - most people aren't.
What interests me is whether the (relative) mass exposure of direct marketing methods to the internet marketing crowd will have any lasting effect on direct marketing methods' (such as testimonials) success.
The fact remains, though, that for the public at large, testimonials work. Especially when they are not familiar with the existing marketers' networks.
Cheers,

Charlie,
I agree.
However, if you read the ad and the sales text, it includes lines such as "Are you sick & tired of reading ebooks?"
That sounds as if the target market is people who have bought internet business ebooks and are likely to have seen a number of sales presentations that include testimonials from these same people.
And there's another thing that adds to my cynicism.
The people who have testimonials on that site supposedly are already successful on the Internet. They already know what works and doesn't work when it comes to developing products, marketing the product, etc.
Each likely has his or her own favorite methods - probably a few successful favorite methods that he keeps to himself. They don't need to read all the ebooks available - some of them probably wrote some of those ebooks.
Now this new product is developed and sent to each of these people before being released to the public. Each tries out this new point and click type product and finds it so much better than the methods that made them successful - so much better they will put their testimonial in writing or in audio to support sales of the product. I'm not sure I buy that.
On the other hand, if one of these endorsers will come along and say he has abandoned his old methods and will use this new product exclusivly in the future, and he has already created product X with it and had great success, then....I'll be first in line to purchase the product.
Anyway, like I said in my first post, I've read so many of those type "testimonials" that I'm cynical when I see them now.
End of cynical rant.
Thanks for reading.

It's OK Bobby, you're preaching to the converted...
However good the product is, if I were you I wouldn't buy it.
I spent quite a long time buying "just one more marketing product" - and I'm not quite over it yet!
The big question is what difference will it make to you? This is far from just a question of how good the Dashboard is.
Hope this helps,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

Charlie I am glad I am not the only one who buys those books but like Bobby says I am now much more cynical about those testimonials. I really prefer to buy ebooks from those who are outside this so called 'Guru' group and are not simply selling "how to get rich on the internet" I don't even believe that they are doing as well as they say they are. People like Ken Evoy and James Martell for example seem much more credible to me. _________________ How to sleep well every night |

The ones I like best are when someone kindly emails to say they've just chanced upon this excellent new product... and, low and behold, there's their testimonial given pride of place on the sales page.
I didn't realise these networks extended quite as far as telepathy.
As you say, it suddenly makes John Smith from Glasgow's testimonial look more credible after all.
Another related one, is where someone says. "If I get just one new idea from an ebook...". Sounds suspiciously like "if you buy just one more ebook..."

Actually, I was interested to see an approach taken by a famous "guru" recently, who publicly challenged his affiliates to sell more, by naming names and numbers...
What staggered me, was how few copies the top affiliates were selling. Either that, or it was a hoax to encourage mere mortals to beat these figures.
Strange but true,
