First I would like to say great job finding a niche that you have experience in and like it enough devote yourself to building it up. I like that you have deeply defined your niche to serve the population of the U.K. and Ireland. However, when doing some keyword researching on google, I find that your title at least has low search volume because of its detailed nature of being about the UK or Ireland. If you take this off I notice their is a lot of competition, but the search volume is a bit higher. I believe you are taking the right steps though.
If you use https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal you will find great information about keywords that are attracting visitors and competition and how much people are willing to pay for those keywords. From my research of your niche. The keywords "garage plans, garage apartment plans, garage plan" all have about average search volume that is good. After that the search volume is much lower for other keywords.
I believe if you wrote great content about garage plans and how they are in the U.K. and very detailed and informative things about them more people would be interested in doing business with you because of trust and friendship. Every word you write is not just being read by a spider on a search engine. Remember it a real person, not just a potential customer. The internet is for information. They could always just drive to the nearest hardware store and get information and build their own stuff, but they came to your site hoping to learn something more. If you are able to deliver on what they want then they will be much more enthusiast about purchasing what you suggest. Just remember to keep it simple but extremely informative. All the bells and whistles are not necessary.

It is has even shown me why my other site is stuck in the swamp. That's mostly because of Content and preselling.
