Allan,
I know you mentioned last week that you will have your programmer look into the "slow posting" issue. Has he done this yet?
I spent over 10 minutes today trying to respond to a post.
I made my origianl repsone....wait....wait....wait....wait...wait.
Then, I decided to change it.....wait.....wait.....wait.....wait.....wait.....wait....wait....wait.
I finally decided to delete my original reply.....just a wait....wait.
Then, I made my reply again.....wait.....wait......wait.
Allan...please get this fixed. 10 minutes on one reply is crazy, and makes me not want to lg into AP. I would be surprised if this is causing people to not post.
Sorry for the rant...but this is the main reason I left AP for a few months. I've been back 2 months and it is still a problem.
It just doesn't seem to get fixed.

Allan Knows there is a problem. He knows it's taking a very long time. But trying to figure out what exactly is the problem isn't easy.
I didn't even bother trying to post more than once yesterday due to the problem.

Hi guys, This is SO frustrating. Our programmer took time off for an overseas wedding and he's been off work, sick.
We are determined to get this fixed. Thanks again for your patience.

Wow...10 seconds is good. Sometimes I get lucky like that, but it usually takes almost a minute for me and sometimes even longer.

Perhaps you struck it lucky and posted a message when no one was using the forum search facility.
UPDATE: Our programmer has started rebuilding the forum's search tables. I can see an improvement already and he's not finished yet. Stay tuned!

From what I gather from Allan's post, the search feature has been slowing the posting down. Now, that the search feature has been temporarily suspended, the posts are going lickity-split.

Our programmer is now rebuilding the search tables on the server. This will take about 4 hours. We're about 10% of the way through.
Things could be slower than usual, but we should be able to do normal activities on the forum.
Please let me know if there is a problem.
