Post subject: switching blog hosts
|
|
|
Way back in 2005, I began on offsite blog with Blogger. After they sold to Google, I could not login to my account or get help from support. So, I abandoned that blog in March 2007 and started one with Wordpress.com.
The other day I decided to see if I could login to my old Blogger blog, and I got in! I would like to switch back to using Blogger because they allow affiliate links, whereas Wordpress.com doesn't. However, I now have a years worth of material on my Wordpress blog.
How do I make the switch without upsetting the search engines? _________________ guitar2tr

You can import your posts from Blogger but not the other way around. Would it be possible to copy and paste your posts from one blog to another? What about starting a self-hosted Wordpress blog and import your posts from the free Wordpress blog? _________________ www.MarketLeverage60milewalk.com - Affiliate Marketers Giving Back for Breast Cancer |

Hi Market,
Thanks for your reply.
RE: | Quote: | | Would it be possible to copy and paste your posts from one blog to another? |
I could do that, but I'm not sure if I'd get in trouble with the search engines. I currently link from my website to an offsite blog. My website blog page has a page one Google rank, so you can see why I don't want to do anything that might jeopordize my position. If you'd like to see an example of what I'm doing, go to:

As you can see, I have already began posting on Blogger again. Do you think it would be okay to repost some of my WordPress blogs on Blogger?
If so, could I use the same title? _________________ guitar2tr

I think it would be o.k. to re-post some of your posts over on to Blogger. You may want to change of the title to each post but that is up to you.
There are so many scraper sites out there, I don't think Google could penalize a blog for having duplicate content. _________________ www.MarketLeverage60milewalk.com - Affiliate Marketers Giving Back for Breast Cancer |

As long as you can import the files correctly I dont see any issues, however if you run into problems trying to copy/paste that year+ worth of info is goign to end up being a pain.[/url] _________________ This is Too Easy! Automated Cash Gifting.

Apparently you have a lot of free time and don't really learn from mistakes. _________________

There is a beta version of blogger - BLOGGER IN DRAFT. It allows you to import files. _________________ http://0-y.blogspot.com/ |
