Post subject: Have a template -- managing content
|
|
|
I recently subscribed to a template company and have some very nice website templates.
Can I just use the template as is to input my content or am I better off using WordPress or a CMS?
I thought WordPress is just for blogs, but can it also be used for articles?
I don't plan on updating my content too frequently.
Thanks! |

Hi Paula,
Like you I had many templates but sometimes editing or at least easy editing some of these templates can be very time consuming an time is everything if you want to make money on the net.
Buying a HTML editor such as Dreamweaver will cost you hundreds of dollars but there are free HTML editors around.
There are also some very good template packages available which include the a HTML editor and other great nifty software licences and some actual money making sites and education packs to start you out in making money on line. If you want to know more about just contact me and I will send you the link.
I personally have a business that develops websites for people and I use XSitePro V2 which has just been officially released last month. If you are serious about publishing website then I highly recommend you check it out as soon as you can - it does nearly everything for you and it's absolutely amazing! Even a novice can have a simple website with some great bells an whistles created and published in just a couple of hours which would normally take weeks to create.
If you're not familiar with XSitePro it's a web site design tool that has been specially designed with Internet marketers and online businesses in mind. It is quite simply the most features packed web site design tool you'll ever find. It is ideal whether you're a newbie or a power user.
As a beginner you'll find it far easier to master and there are great video tutorials to help you get started, and the manuals that come with it are the best I've ever seen.
I recommend you whiz over to their web site now and take a look for yourself - it's a long and mouth watering list.

Paula, It really depends on you. I use templates all the time, have dozens of sites with them. If you are comfortable working with them, go for it.
It's usually only editing the text in the center and maybe a bot of work on the menu or footer. Possibly change the header.
I use a program called EditPlus. It sells for $ 35, but you can download the shareware version and use it forever at no coat. Just have to click on a nag screen each time you open it.
I'm not an affiliate, I make nothing on this, Period.

You can edit your page, and view it in both IE and Firefox as you go, without leaving the editor.
If all you are going to do is put up "sales pages", then do them from your templates and keep on moving.
