Post subject: Using Newspaper ads to get traffic
|
|
|
I'm in the process of building a site and I am thinking of using ads in the National Papers to get clients to go to my site. Any ideas folks? _________________ If I can make money online, then anyone can!

If you can get the ads for really really really cheap, go for it, but your site must look very professional, and you also have to realize your traffic from newspaper ads isn't going to be very targeted. _________________ Free Affiliate Traning!

A short easy to remember ulr is also a good idea if advertising offline. Try local papers first and work on advertising until you get good results before you pay alot. _________________ Domain Names

I would see it working for reaching your local target audience. The key is to diversify your promotional campaign. Relying on just one method would relatively give you minimal results IMO

Thanks guys. The only way to find out is to put my foot in the water. My ad will only be a two liner in the personal columns and wont break the bank. If it works it works and if it doesn't I wont cry. I have a few more irons in the fire so I'm feeling confident enough to take a gamble. _________________ If I can make money online, then anyone can!

I've just fast tracked the project and my first (and maybe my last) ad will appear in the Irish Times personal columns on Sat 19th. The site is complete for now. The ad is a two liner ad and it cost me the bones of €100. You guys might be able to try something similar in your neck of the woods but I think this is just an Irish thing. You can view the site at irishobituaries.org. Let me know what you think. _________________ If I can make money online, then anyone can!

I built a reasonable site. you can see it at irishobituaries.org. I put a two line ad in the Irish Times yesterday. good and bad news guys - The ad looked good in the paper. Only two people viewed the site as a result - so far. _________________ If I can make money online, then anyone can!

How about trying a few small local newspapers first. Promote a landing page, as opposed to your primary webpage.
On the landing page put a capture form so you can get your visitors and names and e-mail address for future follow. Also include something of value such as a free reporter e-book that might appeal to your visitor and encouraged them to give you their contact information.
You'll also need an auto responders such as Aweber and a series of short messages that are designed to inform your subscriber as well is build a relationship with them. Of course in the PS or somewhere in the e-mail and include a link to your website or product you're selling.
This way you can build a list and eventually cover the cost of your advertising as your campaign grows. _________________ Jeff Schuman

Thanks Jeff - i'll give that serious consideration - I have a squeeze page maker so I could work with that as the landing page and as you say capture the emails - thanks for that

Does your Target Audience read the Newspapers you plan to advertise in?
That is really all you need to know.
Add to that an excellent Landing Page and a well written AD Campaign.
It's always about the customer. Who are they? What do they do? _________________

Small advertisements in the national press is always something that has interested me you see these ads every day so they are obviously profitable for the people or companies that are placing them although i guess the initial outlay would put many off. _________________ Slim Tea Diet
