If you had $500, what do you think would be the best directories to buy a link from. Assuming that yahoo would be your first.

I would spend that money advertising on regular websites, not directories.

I would say buying articles. And some on AdWords, and then advertising on other sites...

Provided you didn't need to buy a couple of ebooks to get a boost on how to do affiliate marketing. Wink

If you are going to advertise, consider ezine vs. site, or get a site writeup if you can, maybe a press release.

Place ads on PPC's (Overture, Kanoodle, Google, Findwhat, etc...)

Place ads on High Ranking websites related to your website. Many #1 sites offer advertising for a fair price. They tend to get a lot of traffic.

Place ads in ezines.

There are many quality places that you can place ads and get a good return on investment.

You can make $500 go a long ways with the suggestions above but it won't get you far placing ads in places like Yahoo. You may get a lot of traffic but your money will be gone and so will your ad in a short amount of time.
