What are the advantages and disadvantages of it? As a newbie, what would be my best option? Any recommendation will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

You should go for the double opt-in (Verified Opt-in). That way people will know that the user truly wanted to be in your mailing list and you are not potential spam. That will save legal issues later on. _________________ Helping you find the right products for you!

Thanks, Legend 911....
I read something that when you go for double opt-in, you might lose 50% of your leads because of taking that extra step (confirmation).
Any opinion? Thanks.
