Hi,

I 'm obviously very new to this type of industry and would like to know the quickest (6 -12 months) proven way to $2000-3000/month.

I skipped through the web and have found some very massively publicized promoters like Corey Rudl, Mark Joyner, Ken Evoy etc...
They do make great sales letters but how does a new person actually filter out this incredibly huge amount of advertising without loosing their house to find the right one?

Please take into consideration the fact that I don't have a product/service or a website

Thanks for your help

Wouldnt we all like the answer to that question? Smile

I suppose first off the caveat is that there is no "ultimate" quick money solution that we, or anyone, can point you towards. This business is about hard work and building momentum - just like any other startup. My first suggestion to you is to read up. Literature is King. There are people out there who have been doing this for years and they share their knowledge and wisdom through books, websites and articles. After that, ask questions here and in other forums. Ask for advice, but dont be surprised if people dont offer you catch-all solutions because AFAIK there arent any. I know I havent answered your question but thats only because if there truly were a right answer, we would all be doing it. Smile

Good luck to you.

Hi Marouka! I am a newbie too and also wading through all of the information that is available. This forum has been a wonderful resource - I have found the people here to be very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable.

You might try reading the thread I started - I asked a question somewhat similar to yours and got some very useful answers. The thread is called "Not even a newbie yet - can this be done?" and it is also in the "Getting started - for new affiliates" category of this forum. I am not even "techy" enough to know how to link to it, but when I last checked it was the thread directly under yours.

I hope that helps - and I hope that we both find our way as newbies in this exciting field.

Start reading all you can on this forum, and you won't have to buy expensive books and programs. I repeat: Read the forum, it's free.

When you are ready to build your site, you will understand the picture, and you will have discovered how you can do it cheaply. (All expences for my site have been less than 300 USD so far).

Cheap doesn't always mean best. There are some shortcuts you can take, but they will cost you some money.

SBI is one of those shortcuts. You can build a very effective site w/out SBI. But SBI provides lots of nice tools to help you build your site quicker. Personally, I am not using SBI. Will I later? Maybe... depends on my income level in six months. Smile

This forum is an excellent resource... and all it costs you is your time. Which is valuable... but you will be spending time anyways, so this is a good place to spend it.

If you truly want $2000 to $3000 a month, I suggest doing multiple sites. Pick one... build it to profitable, get traffic started, then go duplicate those steps with a new topic. Do this 5 or 6 times (or more if you can). Each site may only bring in $300 a month... but 10 of those gives you your $3000 target. And if one of them fails miserable for some reason, you are only out the $300 a month... not your full income.

BUT!!!!! Only build one site at a time. Otherwise you will (probably) get flustered, frustrated and then give up.

Eric,
I deliberately didn't mention SBI. Too many aff. lurking around. Very Happy If one gets the picture, it's by far the lest expensive way to go.

Marouka,
Keep reading this forum first, and transform the words here into knowledge, preparation and readyness.

Just my opinion,

Let us know what your Niche is after you get your site going... put a post in the Link Exchange forum, and we can swap some links (we meaning folks here, not necessarily me specifically.)

Hi Marouka!
Let?s begin with the basics.
In Affiliate Marketing a company pays an affiliate (you) to
generate sales from a button, banner or link placed on your
website, newsletter, e-mail or pay-per-click ad.

The easiest way these days to do this is via an
pay-per-click ad on Google Adwords. I use the Google Cash
system and I can highly recommend it to everyone who wants
to startout with
NO Product
NO Service
NO Website
Read more about the Google Cash System in my weblog -> see my sig line

All the best

If I could wind the clock back, this is what I'd do.

I'd contact SiteSell and say I wanted to buy everything - what price? Who knows what they'd say, but some marketers offer huge savings doing this.

Then I'd go for a direct marketer like Jonathan Mizel or Terry Dean, to get the balance. Spend a couple of months reading and then just do your own thing.

I spent years and thousands of dollars hunting the missing secret. At the end of the day, you need a good broad overview...

Quote:
Please take into consideration the fact that I don't have a product/service or a website

...plus you need to find someone who's style inspires. We are all motivated by different people - not as much because of what they say, but how they say it.

At the end of the day, most people measure success in others by what they achieve, not how much they know (and could have achieved if they put it into practice).

Hope this helps,
Charlie.

My advice would be not to spend too long reading about it. Start taking some action.

Yes, do the necessary research but set yourself a cut-off date. Otherwise it's too easy to spend months just reading more and more and more without actually doing anything. I speak from experience!

Then, start with your topic. This is key to everything. Obviously you have to consider products you can sell and competition, etc, but unless you are interested in your topic you probably won't be able to deliver the goods in terms of content.

Hi, Marouka,

Once you've read enough to have a general idea of what this stuff is all about, just choose a topic you're interested in and get started. You'll learn more by actually doing it, and the sooner you get started, the sooner you'll get some money coming in. Don't try to make your first site perfect - think of it as a learning experience that will make you some money.

Your first site will probably not be as profitable as your next one, because in making each site you learn SO much - through both successes and flops. Each new site you build gets better than the last one, and makes you more money faster because each time you have a better idea of what topics to go for, how to build a site, and how to monetize it. As you go along, you'll discover what does and does not work for you.

My first site is moderately successful as far as income goes, but now I look back and realize dozens (maybe hundreds! Smile ) of things I could have done differently to make it more profitable and attract more traffic. I'm still adjusting it here and there to change whatever I can to make it better, but at the same time I'm working on several new sites that are conceived and designed WAY better for attracting targeted traffic and monetizing that traffic. And a year from now I'll hopefully be building sites that blow away the ones I'm working on now.

Read a little, and then just jump on in with both feet. And always keep on reading and studying about this fascinating frontier!

Good luck! Very Happy
