hey guys ive been reading this forum for awhile now and just joined up today.
I went ahead and made my first website aimed at generating affiliate commisions. Ive only had about 70 visitors and havent generated any commisions yet. AWStats, a program which shows you your websites statistics indicates to me that 70% of viewers leave my site within 30secs. Please give me some advice
the URL is : www.homebusinessforbeginners.com

Nice website structure. It is really great for creating a traffic of 70 visitors a day. But the problem is your niche.

You know every day milllions of people are jumping online to make money. In 99.99% of cases all are trapped in selling others to teach "how to make money" just like me and you.

You should know there are millions of small niches with huge demand & very less or no competition.

Go to http://nicheaday.com for niche ideas.

Build a blog at blogger.com. Submit articles for traffic and back links. Build highly targeted list for the long term profit.

Traffic is all about the number of links pointing to your website. Believe me there is no such secret to become rich in a night. It takes your time and effort.

I hope this helps you.

Two possible things - either the visitors aren't targeted enough or they don't see your site as credible.

I see that you have your onpage factors in order (title, meta, keywords, etc.). How well are you doing with regards to traffic from SERP? Have you been optimizing on the offpage factors (building links)? What have you been doing on marketing your site?

These are also very important factors that you should focus on as well.

Ive tried advertising on a few forums so far and i made a press release, also using google adwords but thats not coming along so well.

I think your right about my site not being seen as credible because although theres good solid information there people just arent taking the time to read it.
As for building backlinks I've seen a few guides on it but i find it hard to actually visualize putting it into practice.

I think that the site has too much content and for my first site I shouldve just stuck with a simple one page affiliate site which gets customers straight to the point of visiting that affiliate link.

Just one advice - don't just make your site SEO friendly, make it more beneficial and intriguing for your visitors.

Internet Marketing is a fierce niche. If you are a beginner, then you are fighting an uphill battle.

I'd suggest a new niche.

If you are making 6 figures (your website is unclear... is it YOU who are making the 6 figures, or someones product you are promoting?), then you should have a much higher quality site already. And probably your own product.

I'd work on your grammar and English. You have a lot of spelling errors and typos. Makes me think you are unprofessional.
