Here is a tip to help those who may be trying to get into the Adsense program. I don't know if Google has been slow, but my site was fully operational with a couple pages of content by the end of May, and just now was my homepage added to the google search engine.

I applied to the Adsense program BEFORE my listing had appeared in Google, I was rejected within an hour.

I added 2 more pages of content to my site, noticed my homepage WAS being now listed in google, then I applied again, about 2 weeks later.
This time it took me a couple days to receive a rejection, although it was over a weekend, so I'm not sure if that plays a part.

I pains me to read about the brillance of this program and also realize that Google REJECTED my application into the program, not once but twice.

I've tried inquiring with them to which program policy criteria my site failed to meet. I only received cut-and-paste responses from their customer support.

So I'm asking you guys, besides adding more pages of content, im planning to add about 5 pages w/in the next week or two, what flaws do you see that I should fix on my site?

It may be picking up my site as a personal page because it only has about 10 pages of content, but I plan on upping that to 15 by next weeks end.

Please, any help or tips would be greatly appreciated, the URL to my site is below.

Hi Robert,

I took a look at your site. I like the design.

My opinion is you are not getting rejected for anything that is currently within your power. Of course, keep adding more content and pages as you currently plan on doing.

I think Google is rejecting you because you simply have no history of traffic yet.

I know it's painful to hear "be patient" when a lot of people are talking about how wonderful Adsense is, but this stuff does require patience.

When I applied to Adsense, I remember one of the questions had to do with how much traffic my site was getting, or how many page views per month it generated, or something to that effect. I just checked off "I didn't know."

I'm assuming Google simply took a look at "www.alexa.com" and saw that my site was within the top 1% of traffic stats and, therefore, approved me. (Also, I'm sure they took a look at my content, and other factors).

With your site, I just checked the ranking at alexa.com and there is none at all. So, it's simply a case that your site is so new, that you have no history of traffic yet.

There's no fast and hard rules here. Some other knowledgeable people, such as Audri of http://about-adsense.com/ speculate that you'll need to be getting *at least* a 100 visitors a day or so to your site, and perhaps 20 pages of content, before you will be approved. I think this sounds about right.

Therefore, keep plugging away at the content, get quality links to your site, sign up for SBI value exchange when you have 20 pages, and let the Search engines do their magic in indexing you. When you start to get those rankings and traffic, reapply and I bet you'll be in.

And, if it makes you feel any better, just remember that we all had to go thru this process to. It took me about 2 months after I started building my site that I started to see any real traffic.

Thank you for the very speedy reply Dan! And thanks for the comments on my site.
I'll keep working on that content and see where it takes me. That is what my gut instinct told me what the problem was, but I wanted an outside opinion just incase if I had my blinders on and was missing the problem.

Thanks again!

P.S. Would you mind telling me what your site is so I can look around? you can post it here or PM me it.

Hi Robert,

No problem. Good luck and keep working at it. You'll be very happy in the end if you do.

I promote Adsense on two sites.

My first site does very well. It's because I started building the site in January, and now it has had time to develop pretty significant traffic stats.

The URL is: www.nutritional-supplement-info.com

I am using Adsense on almost every page of the site.

I'd share some more detailed statistics, but Google prohibits us from doing so.

Suffice it to say that Adsense works really really well at the moment. I've been using it for about 5 or 6 weeks now. Originally, I thought the earnings and click thrus would be the highest in the beginning and then go downhill from there consistently. But, interestingly, my click thru rates are holding very steady, and my earnings have been increasing.

Hi Robert,

I've seen your website and I like it. I agree totally with Dan. You're doing just fine with your site but you'll need to patiently build up your site before Google will accept it.

I tried registering for AdSense with one of my new sites www.klinikong.com and was rejected as well. I had more than 20 pages but very low traffic. On the other hand, my other site www.theselfimprovementsite.com was accepted easily. The traffic on this site is still relatively small, about 50/day.

So keep working on your site. I'm sure you'll be accepted by AdSense in due time.

Good luck with your site.

Tim,

Did you open two accounts with Google or did you submit one site and then after the first was rejected, submit the second?

Robert,

You are not alone!

I applied for AdSense with this site
http://WorkAtHomeOnlineBusiness.com
(which gets over 100 visitors daily) without doing a thing on it to see
what happen. Google rejected it. I thought "Sam" you deserve what
you get.

Then I prepared and put in extra work with this particular site
http://Advanced-Internet-Services.com
and was convinced it would be accpted without a doubt.

Just as I click "send" to confirm my email address I received a rejection
email from Mr. G. (exactly 10 minutes after confirming my email
address). Then I thought, there must be a mistake.

On close examination I realized I did not FTP my "robots.txt" with the
mod Google susggested. Doh! careless error! Then I corrected the
error and using my maximum focus eye with the extra brain cells
the almighty has free given then reapply for Google AdSense.

I was now waiting for an automatic acceptance from Mr. Google.
To my horror in 11 minutes time I received a rejection email.
I thought well, the site must have been not that good as I thought.

So I formed a theory that Mr. Google only accepts sites with PR 4 or
above. Only those well established sites. Those sites created since
Mr. G started experimenting/testing new page rank algorithm
will not be accepted. I asked anybody to prove me wrong!

However, having read Dan's theory I think he may have prove me
wrong some how.

So Robert, as most people said in this thread, don't give up. I too will
not until my site get AdSense approval. Sometimes, knowing my luck
AdSense may become worthless.

My site conforms to all the criteria Google needs for adsense ( I think) but it was still rejected.

My guess is that it's because I don't have PR yet. Would be interesting to see how many sites have been accepted that do not have PR.

So I am going to wait until I have PR and then submit again. I have links in but probably not relevant enough for Google. Hope it doesn't take too long. Don't want to miss out on the Adsense goldrush.

Hi Guys,

Thought I'd offer a few thoughts...

First, please remember that I am NOT an expert on Google Adsense. Just someone you has read thru their fine print before signing up, and someone who is--at the moment--successfully using the program.

Here are my thoughts on the new posts:

To Sam: I took a look at the two sites that Google rejected. Your workathomeonlinebusiness.com and advanced-internet-services.

As you know, Google looks at more than just traffic on deciding if they accept a site.

My instinct says they are rejecting your sites because Google may feel they are populated with too many links. From my understanding, that is one criterion upon which they either accept or reject a site: they don't want ones with too many competing text links and/or affiliate links.

At the top of each of your sites, and along either side, it is replete with links.

In fact, Google may be wondering "Where on earth will he have room to put the Adsense code?"

So, that MIGHT be the problem you're encountering......

To Bruce:

You may be right about PR. I don't know, but that could be a factor. I am using Adsense on a site with PR 5 and one with a PR 2.

Here's a suggestion to those out there with more than one site and wish to use Adsense on both:

APPLY with your better site. With the site that gets more traffic, and has higher PR, etc.

Because once you're in, you're in. You don't have to reapply with a second site. You can just take your code and paste it into your second site.

My second site was only getting about a 100 visitors a day when I got accepted with my first site. It may very well have been rejected had I applied with this site to start.

Now, this site gets about 200 visitors, and from what I can tell, has given a boost to my Adsense earnings.

Anyway, that's my tip for the day.

Also, I don't think this will last too long. I believe Google will tighten up the program eventually, and probably require that EACH AND EVERY site must apply. This way, they can weed out even more sites that don't meet their criteria.

Could anyone tell me what "PR" stands for?
I don't think it means "public relations" in this instance. Very Happy

Thanks

PR stands for Google Page Ranking. You can view the PR or websites by installing the Google toolbar.

Pages are ranked 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. And rankings are kind of exponential... A rank of 5 is a LOT better than 4, and a rank of 6 is LOTS LOTS better than 5. If you follow...

That makes sense. Considering my site still has a PR of 0, I'm going to wait till it goes up, soon I hope!
