Hi,

I can't surf on the cj.com and linkshare.com sites anymore. I always get the message: the page isn't available. The strange thing is: I haven't got a problem on any other sites. The only problem on some sites is this: some banners won't show up. I have tried everything in internet options and connections. I have also deleted the cookies. I also have installed the Mozilla browser and there I get the message: the connection was refused when attempting to contact cj.com/linkshare.com.

I tried to re-install explorer also, but nothing helps. I did have a hard disk crash but I always have a backup on my other hard disk and I did copy that back to my crashed hard disk.

I still can surf on the sites on my girlfriend's computer and I still can login there. Is it because it has got an other IP-adress and my IP is blocked or something?

Does anyone know the solution for my problem? Do I have to re-install all my software?

Learner, do you have a new version of Norton's Firewall installed? Have you installed any adblocking software recently, or updated it?

I don't have a firewall. I have always had ad-aware and pop-up stopper. These programs were not installed recently.

You have any anti virus or internet security program on your computer? Norton Internet Security causes problems that you have describing. You have to "Disable" ad control.

Learner, I would contact Cj and Linkshare and ask them to help you fix the problem. Hopefully they can help. You also may want to scan your computer for virus' with an updated program. I recommend McAfee online, the scan is free, and you only need to buy the software if you find your computer is infected.

Be sure and clean out your cache, temp files, and temporary internet files. I know this means deleting cookies, but you need to clean everything out to be sure nothing is causing problems.

Also, what files are open when you do a clean boot? (shut down, and wait a minute, then turn the computer on) Once the computer goes through its routine and you are logged on completely, hit the CTRL ALT DEL buttons at the same time but only once ... a list of files should appear in a window.

Some of these may help fix the problem, or help us in guiding you in the right direction.

I have McAfee Scan and I update it every week. Yesterday I have scanned my complete computer with the online scanner from Norton. No viruses.

Do you know what the problem was? I had Kazaalite installed recently. I removed and ... problem solved.

Thanks people for the response and hopefully other people can learn from this too when they have this problem.
