Post subject: Auto-setting height of layer to match entire content length

|
I am designing a template for my site. I am using layers. On the left hand side, I am using a layer on which I am displaying my navigation menu. I have given a background color to this navigation menu layer.
Now, my problem is that I want this layer to automatically adjust its height according to the content. The nav bar on the left should adjust to match the entire content length. How can this be accomplished? I have tried to set the height of the layer as 100%. But, it doesnt works. Any help?
I hope you get what I am trying to say.
Thanks

Niz,
Layer heights aren't supported by most browsers as yet. The easiest way to make it appear the same across browsers is to have a background graphic with a left bar of color/design the way you want it, then set it to repeat down the left side of the page. It's what I did on my site which is all layers.
