I use articles to drive targeted traffic to one of my landing page, a registry cleaner review(blog), and the conversion rate is very good, so far i have made 100 sales from around 2000 visitors(around 5%), averaged $30 for each sale, so i decide to try adwords. I check adwords kyword tool and i find that i need $1.2/click in order to rank 1-3.

Do u think it is a good idea to use PPC in my situation? If so, how much per click should I start with?

Let's see... If you maintained your conversion rate, you'd pay $120 for 100 clicks and make 20 sales to receive 20 x 30 = $600. Profit: $480.

With a 2.5% conversion rate, you'd receive $300. Profit: $80.

With a 1.25% conversion rate you'd receive $150. Profit: $30.

You can expect your conversion rate from advertising to be significantly lower than clicks from a well written article, but it looks well worth trying. You could start at about 50 cents, limit your daily spend to $100, and see what happens.

thx allan

but my CR is 5%, so with 100 clicks I will only make 5*30 = $150 ($30 profit)

I hear people say to bid high in the beginning to maintain a higher CTR. If I bid 50 cents, my position will be 4-6 (probably #6). Is #6 good to start with?

But with 50 cents even if my CR drops to 2%, i will still make (200 clicks*2%*$30)-$100 = $20. It sounds good, i am going to try for 50 cents first.

Sometimes a campaign is more profitable in the 5th or 6th position rather than in 1-3.

Problem is you have to experiment to find out - and that costs money.
