I say pay someone a few bucks to go around the net for a week or two and submit the blog to as many lists as possible. If you're trying to attract a certain niche, go after that niche and the aggregates for their sites.
I recently came across a men's blog niche that is pretty well visited and gave me a lot of contacts. These are good ways to get advertising offers as well because people like me use them to email a bunch of people at a time. (Not spam, real offers)

I agree with garymorrison23. Press release too can be a big hit to achieve a lot of visitors too. When it comes to blogs it must be relevant to the niche that you market as much as possible. You can promote it also with the use of social media.

I agree with her. It is very useful for beginners. To be the best blogger that we have to get more readers and more bloggers should avoid spamming, including email spam and blog spam other people with your comments. When we leave comments on the blog or reply in the forum, be sure to post and comments are helpful instead of just over BUM up or simply to make your signature appears.
