Allan, with so many different companies handling affiliate relationships, how many of these companies is to many?

What are the drawbacks to having say 50 aggregators supplying/representing 2000 companies?

There are a LOT more than 50 affiliate networks, and a heck of a lot more than 2000 affiliate merchants - many times that number.

It seems crazy to me. I assume a lot people must figure there's easy money in it, taking a slice of the action.

Some "affiliate networks" apparently are actually affiliates themselves disguised as affiliate networks. I suppose they hope to make money from affiliates who don't shop around for the best deal. It's not easy to pick these guys without a lot of careful research.

Would it make more sense to go with say the top 20 networks and just work them really well Allan?

I would imagine keeping things fresh in the sales pages would be better than neglecting things due to the volume of suppliers.

Or less.

Definitely. It makes sense to figure out which 10% or 20% of your activity is earning you the money and concentrate your attention on it.

Most affiliates seem to spread themselves too thinly because there are always new tempting things to try, when improving the things you're already doing might be more effective use of your time.
