I no longer offer banner advertising for my advertisers just for the simple fact that I could see that it was not really working for them.

Now that is a whole other story though because I know that banners that are eye catching and professional like the ones I am using for affiliate programs are working.

It really all depends on what the product is, how well it fits with your website, where it is located and how well it is designed.

I do not accept banners for Adsense because that is hit and miss as far as being relative to the content, or they are horribly designed. The text ads work much better.

As others have mentioned, it is worth testing to see how well they would work on your websites.

It depends on your niche with banner ads. You will normally find that the CTR is much higher than text ads on an arcade type site, but then it will be totally the oppersite an another niche site.

Not sure if it's because a majority of the users on arcades are adults and maybe they are not that use to the internet and banners yet or what.

Make your banner look like a text ad and you will get better click conversions. On my own site I use 1 banner per page, usually of the product I'm presenting. I never use banner networks. If I find a site that targeted to what I'm selling I may email the webmaster for a quote for a banner ad to test them out.

I notice that Azoogle offers banners like that where they look like text ads, but realistically you can click on any of the text ads and they all will go to the same location as it's a banner and not really text ads.
