May somebody help me to explain what RSS is.
And how we are going to make use of it.
I read from a few articles but I still do not fully
understand.

Google's definition: "RSS is an XML-based format (using the Resource Description Framework (RDF) - a language for representing information about resources in the World Wide Web) that allows the syndication of lists of hyperlinks, along with other information, or metadata, that helps viewers decide whether they want to follow the link. RSS allows a person's computer to fetch and understand the information, so that all of the lists that person is interested in can be tracked and personalized for them. ..."
It's just another way to present your content and to reach more people

RSS enables you to publish other news on your site without further updates. Once the source uptades,your site does too. Though it relieves the webmaster of frequent site editing, it may trigger dup content filters against your site.

RSS stands for Rich Site Summery that you can get from any site if you have subscribed to that site's feed.Means you will get regular updates or news of the site.Same you can do for your site that you can send RSS feeds and get good visitors.

Hello jim,
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes content to a wide number of people in brief.
How it works?
RSS works by having the website author maintain a list of notifications on their website in a standard way. This list of notifications is called an "RSS Feed". People who are interested in finding out the latest headlines or changes can check this list. Special computer programs called "RSS aggregators" have been developed that automatically access the RSS feeds of websites you care about on your behalf and organize the results for you. (RSS feeds and aggregators are also sometimes called "RSS Channels" and "RSS Readers".)
Other uses of RSS:
RSS can be used for many other purposes like:
* RSS notify the arrival of new products.
* Listing and notifying you of newsletter issues, including email newsletters
* Weather and other alerts of changing conditions
* Notification of additions of new items to a database, or new members to a group
