Here Deb
http://www.neotonic.com/
We are pleased to announce that on April 24, 2003, Google Technology, Inc. acquired Neotonic to bring the Trakken email management system in-house. At this time we are not signing up any new customers.

| Ok, but what does that have to do with Adsense? I'm confused. |

Debs,
From what I understand after doing a little research it is a autobot that checks your page . I had enquired about my site today, I was afraid of someone was sending false clicks at my site, I have been averaging way to much money for only 200 hits per day.
Im just assuming all this but I am pretty postitive, there was no negative feedback with there reply, I assume they are watching now !

The Google spider that checks your pages for Adsense is called Mediabot. Seems Trakken has to do with the email company Google acquired, it could mean they clicked the link relative to the email you sent in.
I see yahoo mail links in my logs (especially after I send out my newsletter) and I am thinking it might be the same thing.
Now, was that what you were trying to say?

Jeff,
maybe it is not false clicks, but people coming to your site from this forum, enjoying what you have setup and honoring your efforts (also for your posts on this forum) by clicking on one of the ads. _________________ Explore The Most Up to Date Site About How to Succeed with Adwords! |

I certainly hope not, as that is a violation of the Adsense TOS and very unfair to advertisers. I would hope that the people on this forum are adults and act accordingly.

I agree with the idea behind that Eric, but ... I won't click Adsense on a site I am visiting. Call it chicken if you will ... I am very conservative. Google tracks Publisher IPs on login, Advertiser IP's, site IP's, and Visitor IP's ... why risk it? I don't even click the Adsense in the SERPS! lol I find other ways to support the sites I like without fear of reprisals for the siteowner or myself.

Hey, I just wanted to suggest how it could happenthat carpunky had good revenues from a relatively low number of visitors.
Please don't put me in the corner and say, onlineleben clicks on everything. Thats definately not the case. And I also know the rules (witten and unwritten) about treating advertisers etc. _________________ Explore The Most Up to Date Site About How to Succeed with Adwords! |

Debs ,
Ok, that could be it, after the e-mail was sent, they clicked my link therefore showed up as the above link. Sorry , for the mis-leading post.
Let me clear the air here also, I have checked the IP address and the URL referral links, I don't believe any of the clicks were coming from this site.
Acually the only clicks that I tracked were coming from guest IP addresses and not members. Furthermore, The referring links from this site has died down tremendously in the last 7 days, which is good.
I didnt mean to accuse anyone on here of anything and I don't think any of the regular members on this board would intentionally try to hurt anyones site. This is one of the most mature boards that I write on ! ( excluding me sometimes , when Jack comes to town )
Thank ya

Oh, we knew you weren't and your concern about the CTR is justifiable so asking how it could happen is good.
As far as mature boards, I agree, except when I get irked as I do on occasion. *Writing 100 times, I will not get irked. I will not get irked. sigh*

I can hardly believe my ears...
Don't most people click on Adsense ads out of remote interest (rather than passionate determination to buy something when they get there)?
I realise there is a balance (at least for the advertisers), but I have a strong suspicion that the success of Adsense for publishers relies more than a little on the "passing interest / what shall I click next" factor.
Come on Debs...
You are collecting enough revenues. Shouldn't you do your bit by letting your "passing interest" roam a little more freely?
All the best,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."
