I have read that some people had bad experience with bluehost. Hostgator is the more sure way to go IMHO.

Assuming you are referring to bluehost.com...

I can vouch for that. Be very wary of them.

I have my sites hosted with MT. I created a new account with Hostgator recently, as they are my No.2! They give a good service. MT is still the king though!

I am currently using bluehost.com have had so far no problems apart from helpline in the middle of the night it seemed as though he didnt have a clue about what he was talking about (I live in Germany so hence time differences)but at all other times it was okay.I have used Godaddy in the past a very helpful helpline and I experienced no problems.
A web hosting site which came to my attention yesterday was Kiosk.ws I have no experience with this site but no less than MR. Filsane was advertising these guys he said they have a lot of experience with affiliates and problems affiliates sometimes have with web hosting due to our particular market.
If anyone has used them or knows about them I would also like to hear about it please.

Choosing between bluehost or hostgator is an easy one: neither. For the same price range choose between (1) 1&1 (2) 3fn.net (3) godaddy.com (4) ipowerweb.com.

Cheers,
Jason

i need fantastico that's why i've gone for bluehost (which is recommneded by wordpress) or hostgator that i've heard very little negative reports about.

i've tried to install it manually, but because i have a mac, and i'm still a bit of a techno neard, i'd just like to take the simple option.

I am just starting out with web hosting and chose Hostgator which I like. There are so many out there to choose from that it is difficult to know what is best especially if you are new to the whole marketing thing.

That's really an argument! With something like HostGator you can really be sure it's quality.

1&1 seems to be not very recommendable, according to the opinion of many people I've seen.
the price is really not the only thing to look for.

i started out with one and one. the only problem i had is reaching an assistant on the phone (i love to phone rather than email) who....... how can i put this......who first language obviously not enlish.

the first two times i gave my domain name very slowly, on the 5,6,7 and 8th time i spelt each letter out to her individually. A for apple, S for sugar.

i only got that once, but apart form that, i found one and one to be a better service than most.

A host is only as good as it's uptime, it's speed, and it's customer service.

Hostgator is okay for what you are doing.
