Post subject: Read This If You Think You Are An Internet Marketing Failure
|
|
|
Most people don't know that I'm an internet chess freak. Now, I'm only an "average" player, but I want to make a point here.
When I started playing, I would lose all of the time. I mean ALL OF THE TIME. People were kicking my butt left and right, and it seemed like I'd only get wins against easy opponents. For the record, I've lost 7,534 times, one of which came just before I initially began writing this post.
As I started playing more, I got better and better, and I think I can honestly say that I learned more from losing than winning. You see, when you play tough opponents, you learn a lot, and you can start learning from your mistakes - which moves to make, and which moves not to make.
It took me somewhere around 10,000 games before I finally had more wins than losses. So, if you define success as winning more than 50% of the time, it took me about 10,000 tries before I finally succeeded. As of this post, I have 8,202 wins, compared to 7,534 losses...
Internet marketing has not been friendly to me. It has been brutally difficult, but the great thing is that I have seen an immense amount of progress compared to when I first started. Even today, I'm still learning, and am more in tuned to the things I've been doing wrong, and how to correct my mistakes.
Internet marketing is not a whole lot different than learning the game of chess. In the beginning, you get your butt kicked all of the time, but little by little, you see some progress, and you start winning. Before you know it, you barely resemble the player you once were when you started out. Of course, you still get your butt kicked and make mistakes all of the time...but you keep playing the game, because you know you can win.
A lot of people get started at internet marketing and then give up shortly afterward because they don't see enough victories in internet marketing to keep going, so they quit. I've only had limited success in internet marketing, but you know what, I'm not about to quit because I enjoy the sales I do make, and they encourage me to keep playing the game...
The very ironic thing about this post is that my crazy cat jumped across my keyboard twice during the first two times I tried to write it...and I was practically finished the first time my cat deleted this post. If I had quit after the first two times my cat deleted this post, whoever needed to read this post may have quit internet marketing...just before they made a crucial victory. _________________ Wealthy Affiliate Review

So you could say your determination to make your post was greater than your cat?s determination to get your attention . . . and cats can be mighty determined sometimes _________________ Why Do Most Affiliates Make Less Than $500 Per Month?

Post subject: Launching a rocket

Success in Internet Marketing or business is like launching a rocket as most of the fuel is used up just getting it off the ground.
People frame the first dollar because it is the hardest one they ever earned. One has to go through the learning curve to earn it.
I put two years into learning before I started earning any real money and the income goes up consistantly from month to month and year to year.
I have been at it ten years now and for people starting out all I can say is don't give up too soon and don't expect instant riches least you give up. _________________ Home of the WebMaster's & Marketing CDs

Hi, I agree. My experience is similar. BTW, I used to do PPC and made some good money with affiliate programs. Then the war got very difficult, and I dropped out. I've created a site with Site Sell, which Allan also promotes. I followed the system, and it works. I'm getting around 700 -/+ visitors a day.
But convversion is another story, and this is also why Allan's main article of his newsletter of today #323, I was embarrased because I felt it's me (and I'm affraid it really is.)
My site is a bit less than 2 years old now. It makes *some* sales, very little, and the commission low. It earns some bucks a day from Adsense; not what I've been waiting for altogether. Not really worth the efforts I put in so far.
However, like you say, you win by not giving up, and that is what I think, too. I'll keep working untill I start getting better success. I know I have nonsense on my site; I know my English is not best; I know a lot of things can be improved. Lately I've been brushing up on my Typing Games page - www.online-typing-tutors-town.com/typing-games.html - If you have an idea or 2, how it can be improved more, I'd certainly appreciate.
Thanks for your inspiration!
