Post subject: Minisites Still Profitable?
|
|
|
Hi folks,
Just out of curiousity is anybody here using Minisites. If so are you actually making money from them?
If you are making money then where are you getting the bulk of your traffic from - PPC or Google-type search engines? Or other sources?
I have some ideas knocking around in my head and some spare domains I'd like to get some use out of - might set up some minisites
Thanks in advance.
Niall

Obviously some people make money or some of the more popular mini sites would be dead and gone...
But from what I understand they are a pain to get ranked in a search engine.
So as much as I hate PPC but it is already a thing that will be around forever...But I would tend to say that PPCs, along with a lot of hand posting in forums and news groups and being reviewed by other popular minisites and having them link to you from other sites is probably a form. Along with people advertising in local newspapers and money savers. Probably some opt-in email pushing...
I am going to launch a mini site as well...so I will try to keep people informed on what ends up working or doesn't for me.
later... |

I don't think minisites and free SEs mix very well in competitive areas unless you go to a lot of trouble to create an artificial external linking structure as Michael Campbell does.
Having said that, if you are imaginative enough to think of a backdoor way of attracting profitable traffic via uncompetitive (but related) keywords, it can be done with on page factors and a couple of external incoming links.
Cheers,
Charlie. _________________ "Before I speak, I have something important to say."

This is probably the layout formula I will be using. It is from the killer mini sites ebook.
Right click on the link and save as...It is html file that has the tables in it to follow easily.

I plan to do a lot of offline promotion for it though with flyers and business cards everywhere locally... |

double Yes to that.
Getting good ranking is difficult but possible. Even without linking strategies like mentioned above.
