What is one of the best blogging softwares out there that offers a good amount of options?
I hate using blogger.com and am looking to find something else.

Check it out with wordpress, for more option and preferences I would suggest to look for your own hosting rather than using their free hosting version.

i would advise wordpress.org also but you need to install it which is where i've hit a brick wall because i have a mac. the only alternative i see is to find a host that has Fantastico, then installation isn't a problem.
i recently violated a Term Of Service at wordpress.com which is a free blog service. i was told afterwards that i was allow one discrete link. basically as i understand wordpress.com is a free search blog that doesn't allow any commercial promotions.
wordpress.org is an installation software.
for all the headache i've turned to typepad.com, which isn't as good, but it's a one stop solution.
any and many web-host will offer a blog service but in my opinion it's a matter of trying these things out. you can always move your blog if you're not satisfied. |

I was also talking about Wordpress.org, not the free one. You can install it in less than 5 clicks in your fantastico account (in the Cpanel).
Be sure to check if you have this feature when you choose a web hosting.

be more specific? The word best is not very descriptive in this case.
Best in terms of easy to use is probably blogger.
In terms of SEO and customizing is wordpress, which is what I use. Once you get familiar with it, its very easy to use.
I use HostGator for my hosting it has Fantastico and setting up wordpress takes seconds.

As others have stated on this board, I highly recommend you host your own blog and do not use the free blogger.com or wordpress.com. Many people have had a terrible experience with blogger.com where they closed down their blog for no apparent reason. How would you like all your content to just disappear over night? Not fun.
I agree with others here wordpress.org (the downloaded version you host on your on domain) is the best option. There is a great support forum and it is easy to install. If you can read you can install it.
In addition, there are lots of themes out there you can use to easily customize your blog.

yes, thats exactly the wordpress we are talking about. wordpress.org not wordpress.com
hosting the blog yourself is crucial as per intellectual property rights and the ability to have full control over it.

I still thinking wordpress is the best solution.
Find paid hosting and get your own domain name. then install wordpress using fantastico.
customize your blog using theme and add plug in.

I think blogspot is one of good software for a blog. these service is provided by a google. I think it approved a most of the comment. It is also one of famous and most preferable by a people.
