Dear Allan,
Your latest newsletter was quite compelling. As you described yourself, trussed up in the hospital with nurses who can't come near you without wearing protective gear, the pictures were vivid.
If you weren't in such pain and so darned miserable, I'd almost say you were enjoying the opportunity to write about all this.
And yes, you caught me up short, just as I was about to draft a get well note to you - maybe fill your mail box with some snappy, clever, Blue Mountain card.
Well, instead, this seemed like the best place to start the flood of love to your room.
Our prayers and good wishes fly to you across the seas.
Be well soon and don't let the poisons get you down.
Hugs
Eva Rosenberg

Allan,
Thanks for your personal message today within your newsletter and for some very important - life critical as you are well aware - reminders about taking care of self.
True physical health and physical well-being is dependent upon mental, emotional and spiritual health. And when we get the warning signs you spoke of, to ignore this is at our own peril.
I have a few of my own warning signs that I will be paying attention to today and I appreciate you bringing it to the foreground. For all of us.
Thought for today:
"I am whole, perfect, strong, loving, happy, harmonious and prosperous."
In good health,

Hi Allan,
I'm using the forum for the first time, mainly because of what you wrote in your ezine, but also because I see the benefit of it.
I have a prayer site at http://www.angelsarewithus.com/prayerrequests.htm where you and your sister are now listed -- no one sees the list, but everyone prays for the people on it. The reason I mention the site is because there are some good thoughts in there that might help you as you heal.
You have done great work. Your many friends are praying for you.

I appreciate this Alan.
When you are fighting with a nasty disease, you want to reach out to people and are warning *us* to not get caught, unawares.
Rare gesture, I appreciate.
Get well soon. We all need you to come back soon enough _________________ Arun Agrawal

My first post here Allan, although we've emailed before. What you're going through sounds roughly approximate to hell, and I hope you get out of there soon.
I trust the hospital is keeping you supplied with proper gluten free food - as a coeliac myself I know the concerns around that.
All the best to you,
Roger Elliott |

Allan, Reading your newsletter this morning with the news of your 'in-hospital' affected me greatly, first with dismay at your illness, second with how open you are about it, and third, reporting as usual with genorosity, warning us about letting something happen to our business in the case of our misadventure of one kind or another. I've read your newsletters as soon as they come in, when I'm up, for information, and when I'm down, for the conviction that it can be done by people like me, and therefore by me, and it has made a difference. I waited too long to thank Jim Wilson for all he had done for Netizens, and for me, and I'm making the effort to never wait too long again, so thank you for what you do, and who you are, from the bottom of my heart--and when you're well, I'll be thankful for that as well. My prayars are with you and with your sister although I don't know what's wrong with her--I must have missed a newsletter.

Yes - Get well soon Alan!
I'm also here as a result of the invitation in your newsletter - I'll try to find a few questions to answer and see if I can make myself useful.
Your newsletter was thought-provoking and inspirational:
Thought-provoking because it's given me the kick I needed to make some preparations for unforseen events: I'm lucky, in that my girlfriend works with me in my Internet business - and has the skills to take over if necessary. However, we have a new daughter now (6 months) - and if anything happened to both of us, it makes sense to ensure that the value of the business could be realised on her behalf.
Inspirational - because there you are, feeling awful, propped up in a hospital bed - WORKING. That's self-employment - the commitment required to make a small business (or affiliate business) succeed. Would-be Internet entrepreneur's take note.... |

But, I sure do hope you're feeling better soon Allan. I've been a subscriber to your ezine, and frequent visitor to your site, but this is my first post also.
Your letter this morning was very moving -- I had surgery myself last March and was out of commission for a month -- and I swore to myself then I'd do all the things you suggested to get ready for the 'what if I'm not here' scenario. But then I felt better and what I didn't do while I was under the weather quicky made it's way to the back burner. No more, I now have a survivors letter on my PC which I will keep on the taskbar, so I can add easily as I think of things that should be there...
For now, just a text file I can add notes to -- once I get enough, I'll organize it -- but at least everything will be in one place (vs. in three different notebooks, various sticky notes, and scattered throughout the PC).
My prayers are with you,

Post subject: Allan Gardyne Needs Our Support
|
|
|
Hi All,
I have just read one of the bravest newsletters I have ever received.
It was from Allan Gardyne and to use his own words - "I'm sitting up in bed in hospital writing this. I'm here for 10 days or so getting immuno-suppressant therapy for a rare blood
disorder called aplastic anemia. A dual drip line has been sewn into my upper arm and it stays
there 24 hours a day. They're pumping me full of a cocktail of chemicals to try to teach my T-cells to stop attacking my immune system. The doctors insist that what they're giving me isn't chemotherapy but it seems awfully similar to me".
I share this with you all, because I sincerely believe that if we show Allan that we all care in a very small way, it will help him pull through.
Personally, I have never met or even emailed Allan before, but I have learnt a lot from him since 1998.
Allan has given a lot to the Affiliate Marketing Community and I think we should now give something back to him.
I have just joined this forum and hope in my own "small way" will be able to contribute to this forum and support Allan.
Should anyone have other ideas to cheer Allan up, please share it on this forum as well
Thanks
Ed Oliver (friend from The Affiliate talk Forum)
PS. Thought for today;

Yes, Alan, another lurcker comes forward!
Thank you so much for reminding all of us about this important part of 'taking care of business'. As it is now, my family would have NO CLUE about how my online businesses are laid out. I'll remedy that straightaway!
And I, too, have a few health issues that have been ignored probably too long-I'll be taking care of that soon...thanks!
This message board is just another example of how generously you give of yourself to us-your websites, newsletter, information, and advice are invaluable, and this board is an incredible tool for us to help each other as well. Quite a few colorful characters, and a ton of excellent advice! Hmm, could a convention be in our future??
Take care and know that you are in my prayers!
God Bless,
Cindy |
