How many of you guys write articles to promote your
websites? and what has been your experiences with them? I personally think that it is one of the best ways to market, but would also want to hear from you which softwares you use for that, if any (I favour 4 specific ones).

I've wrote a post in my blog about article marketing:

[URL deleted - Moderator]

I just want to know if you guys have got good results with other directories not listed in my post...

Hello mystical,

I use EzineArticles as well as Aticle Post Robot.

When I first started using article marketing my greatest interest was in the number of links I could build up to my site. So I basically wrote fast and furious to create as many articles and to submit to as many article directories as possible.

I decided to track my progress, and then concentrate on those niches that were the most profitable.

Although I still enjoy submitting articles to get one-way links back to my websites my testing has led me down a different path. I've decided to take more time and write quality articles rather than concentrating on the number of articles I was writing and submitting.

In my personal experience it is the high quality articles that bring what I really want. And that is targeted traffic that follow the link in my resource box back to my website and either sign up for my newsletter, make a purchase, or generate Adsense income.

Best of luck in your article marketing efforts.

All The Best,

Tony

Excellent advice! Quality wins in the long run. You could say the same thing about posts on forums. You see people dashing around doing a whole lot of stuff that makes a mediocre impression, when more effort put into doing a few things really well might be more effective.

Thanks for your input, Allan.

You make a good point about forum posts. Thanks to your advice that's another area I'll be working to improve.

It's possible that I might not have ever changed from using short-term quantity methods to using long-term quality methods had I not seen the difference in the bottom line with my own eyes.

It's like they say, "Quality never goes out of style"

All The Best,

Tony

Hi TeamGlobal

My experience is similar to your. I started writing and submitting articles about 1 and half months ago using Article Post Robot. I could increase from 0 to 3000 backlinks during this period, but only 52 Google links. At the moment I send only to quality e-zines and article directories with a PR of at least 4. I understand that this is now the criterion for Google to select the links. But it's worth in the beginning to have some links for MSN and Yahoo. These could be important in the future.

Cheers
Diep

Hi Diep,

It sounds like your article marketing is progressing nicely.

Sometimes it takes awhile after your article submissions to see the results because the article directory owners are swamped these days...so you can probably expect to see even more results from the submissions you've already made.

Continue writing quality articles and submitting them regularly and I think that you will be amazed at the results that you see 6 months from now.

Keep up the good work.

All The Best,

Tony

Hi Tony

It's true that it take a long time before your articles will be approved. Some article directories have not approved my articles after 1 and 1/2 months!! It's true that I still have results from these articles. Today I have about 3,500 backlinks, compared to my last post.

Cheers
Diep

Hello Diep,

That's great news.

Well, I'd better get back to writing some more articles.

Have a great day.

All The Best,

Tony

I have just started article marketing. And I have seen a lot more traffic. I've found it to be a great advertising method. I've only written two so far, but I have some more ideas flowing. Wink

I'd rather submit my articles manually verses using software. With using software, a lot of the time you don't get a response as to when your article was accepted. And for what directory for that matter.

Hello Tammy,

That's great that you've seen a lot more traffic right off the bat.

Article marketing is a great way to promote your website. It's one of those methods that seems to always work for me and it sounds like it's going to work great for you as well.

I use manual submission as well as software-based submission. I feel that if I did only manual submissions that they would be highly effective as well.

For me, the return on my minimal time investment makes using submission software well worth it. Once my article submission software was carefully setup it automates the submissions quite nicely. It takes me less than 5 minutes to load my article and resource box and start sending.

Keep up the good work with your article marketing.

All The Best,

Tony

As you write your articles don't forget to write articles for other webmasters who have sites in your niche (but happen to be a much larger dog than you), then contact them and ask if they would like a "custom" article just for their site. One way back link and traffic (resource box)!

The benefits can be better than any submitting to article directories.

Nice tips regarding submitting to ezines.

I haven't ventured into submitting directly to ezines. I'd like to do some testing and then evaluate the results.

David's idea of writing customized articles for webmasters really sounds like it has merit. Developing good relationships with webmasters with popular sites makes perfect sense. Seems like you could not only give your traffic a boost but your credibility as well.

All The Best,

Tony

I have had much success with ezinearticles by way of SE indexing.
