I'm a bit unhappy of all that spammy self promotion postings here.
IMHO, the forum quality suffers a lot from it.

And most of that postings is not cared of, although they are not allowed, according to the forum rules.
Some members write one self promotion after the other, and it is uncared.

I have already offered my help because I think they may have not enough time to check and care of every posting, which I can understand, but Allan wants no additional Moderators.

So how can this condition be improved?

Andyz,
You have NEVER contacted me about any promotion you were unhappy with. Believe me, I delete many a week and ban many memberships. You may see their messages for a while before that happens, but it does happen. I deleted your poll. Any objection to messages here should be sent to me.

However, many messages are quite borderline and are left. Many, you'll notice, are one line welcome notices to new members with gaudy signatures. I have to delete a lot of those. Heaven help us if we all welcomed new members who, after all, have often been hanging around lurking for months!

Hang in there and give me notice on any you think are suspicious.

By the way, your signature file is a bit gaudy with a phrase at the end that is a bit borderline in terms of our site rules. You could make it a bit more presentable to the majority.

Hi Andy, I appreciate the feedback. One thing we should probably do one day is add a "Report Spam" button to the forum to make it easy for forum members to report spam.

Oh, that's a great idea, Allan! Very Happy

Wally, I'm sure you do a good job. I just thought, that you guys have not just the time to care of all postings, because there are so much new every day.
That's also why I thought it wouldn't be effective to complain about each spammy posting, that I find. It made no sense to me, because I could only imagine the reasons that either you have no time, or you don't care about it. When you ask that we should report spammy postings, then you admit that you can't or don't want to check every posting (or that they are ok for you).
Please don't feel, that I wanted to complain about your work.
I just would like this to be improved somehow.

But your suggestions are already good. Smile

Why you deleted my poll, Wally? Sad

What exactly is wrong with my signature? (Sorry, I really don't know what you mean - but I will change it I do)

Edit: Another thing just came to my mind. I don't want to report every spammy posting to you, because often they are relatively new, and maybe you haven't seen it yet, and I'm sure you don't want to get a lot of messages about postings, when you just haven't checked them YET.
That's why this way is pretty ineffective and won't change very much IMO.

Edit: Have to say it... this forum is GREAT!! The best affiliate forum.
